I was half expecting to receive an axe that would not retain a sharp edge - as is the case often with inexpensive tools. But I was pleasantly surprised! The blade came out of the box reasonably sharp and sharpens to a razor edge easily. I have used the little axe quite a bit now to rough out blanks. It’s much more comfortable to use when making several spoon blanks in one session. The regular small axe I used for years before I purchased this one doesn’t get used much now - except for heavy work. Once I have the log cut and split, this little axe does all the work. I am able to use it to go all the way from half of a split log to a spoon or bowl or kuksa using just this axe. It’s design allows me to use the axe to quickly get from raw wood to a nearly finished piece. I love it!

got this for my brother as a joke gift but its actually super helpful, its sharp and great for getting kindling and smaller chunks for fires while camping

Opened this up and while it's a pretty and fairly well made hatchet, it has no performance out of the box. Removing the cheap plastic wrapping around the blade it did fine, but I tested it on some other materials and it literally could not cut, just dent. On a thawed steak it basically bounced off with no marking or signs it had been there, and then I tried a scrap box and it literally creased it without cutting at all. I have zero confidence that out of the box, this hatchet can cut anything at all. After spending a good 10 minutes with a sharpener, performance is better, but still not awesome. The blade is now sharp, but it still struggles to cut deeply. I think the blade geometry is slightly off, growing too thick too quickly and bogging down. Overall, this is a very middling option in my book. The fact it ships dull, and underperforms when sharp is are big red flags. Will it function? Yes, but you'll invest a lot more time and energy than competitors.

Es muy practica a la hora de picar la carne, en mi caso la utilice en un evento donde cocinamos carnitas, en cuanto al filo uno mismo le tiene que sacar filo, en cuanto a la resistencia y presentación me encanto.
