Im a firm believer in using full synthetic oil not for its extended drain intervals but for its ability to protect my engine and low and high temps. and during startup which is where most engine wear occurs. Pennzoil's Ultra Platinum line of oils is all i use in my 5 cars and after doing oil analysis it still meets or exceeds new oil specs.

Pennzoil is still the only oil, that I know of, that actually cleans the interior of your engine. The next best engine oil (Mobil I) lubricates just as well, but won't keep your engine as clean as Pennzoil. I had a 2006 BMW 325i with about 78K miles on it and a lifter started sticking.I tried using the German oil that the BMW dealer uses, which is supposed to be the best lubricant for the BMW engine. Nada. I tried Mobile I. Nada. I tried Castrol GTX. Nada. I tried Valvoline. Nada. Finally, I saw an ad on TV or in a car magazine that shows how clean an engine is at 100K miles using Pennzoil, compared to another brand and the difference was definitely visible. After just 200 miles the ticking noise from the lifter started making less noise and after a couple thousand miles, the noise was gone. Pennzoil saved me a couple grand, since I had gotten an estimate to replace all the lifters, which was around $2000.00, because there is no way they can tell which lifter is making the noise, so they just replace all of them; Then they JUST charge you $2000.00. I have a 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid that was serviced at the dealer for the first 24,000 miles with Motorcraft oil as per the "free" service. (I go 8,000 miles between oil changes) Once I reached the point of paying to do an oil change I automatically planned to go to Mobil One. That was the oil I used in my G35 for 12 years and 215,000 miles without issue. Yet in doing research I found the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum product. After about 3 months of reading everything I could on the product I was convinced that I should try it as it seemed to be a major leap in innovation. The hybrid system in my car works flawlessly; this means the engine is always going on and off between speeds of sitting parked and 85mph on the highway. This transition was always noticeable as the gas engine is louder than the electric motor. Also the vibration from the gas engine was minor, but you knew it was running. With the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum you don't know when the engine kicks in. The difference is late night and sunny day it is so stark. With such a difference I am highly convinced the the hybrid system is better protected as well. Currently I have 40,000+ miles on the car and two trips from CT to FL and back using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum oil in the car. That trip is 1,321 miles each way, takes 18.5 hours of driving and 33 gallons of gas (40mpg average). If you have a hybrid or auto-start/stop vehicle (especially a luxury class one) you will hear and feel the difference in the vehicle with the second oil change using Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. If you love your vehicle, love to drive and enjoy a liquid smooth engine then this is the best oil currently on the market.
