PROS I love the blue face. It has an appeal that comes from a simpler aesthetic, but is somewhat sophisticated at the same time. It tells the time and the date, it's water resistant, the finish is excellent. And it looks great. It's an autowinder which I've never tried before. You can't overwind it. When I was a kid, I overwound my Charlie Tuna watch and broke it, and was sad. So having a watch that won't overwind is huge for me personally. No batteries ever. CONS I don't wear it everyday so I forget to wind it when I don't wear it. Luckily it's easy to reset to the correct date and time, and even easier to wind it. It doesnt glow in the dark. And it doesn't annoy you with alarms, take your pulse, track you or any of that other stuff. So it's not all bad. OVERALL A watch that's a nice fit for a watch purist kind of guy.

Bought this as a gift for my wife and she absolutely loved it. The watch looks elegant and the pink dial really stands out in person. Since it’s a mechanical piece, I do have to adjust and rewind it for her because she doesn’t bother with that part much but overall it’s a beautiful and thoughtful gift that made her really happy.

It’s a beautiful watch and I use it a lot. It’s automatic so no battery needed (as long as you’re moving) and will probably last for a very long time. I do have to rewind if I’m not wearing for 3 or 4 days, which is pretty normal. The color is pretty but I wish it was more pink. I love seiko and I highly recommend this.

Really disappointed — Seiko Presage arrived defective, no power reserve at all I bought this watch brand-new, hoping to use it for a very special occasion (my wedding). From the moment I took it out of the box I noticed something was off — it never held any power reserve. Even after winding the crown 30–40 times, it ran only for a few minutes and then stopped. The automatic rotor spins fine, but the movement simply fails to store energy. I only had the chance to test it properly today (after adjusting the bracelet), and the defect became immediately obvious. Definitely a factory defect — not a matter of “breaking-in” or wear and tear. Given this, I cannot recommend this watch. What should have been a timeless piece for a milestone day turned into a big disappointment. I’m returning it for a refund, and I hope Seiko and Amazon pay attention to such issues — a new watch should work out of the box.

Este Seiko a estas alturas es super célebre, ¿que más se puede decir? Teniéndolo en mis manos sólo me siento animado a agregar que SÍ, efectivamente es todo lo que dicen que es: la famosa esfera azul es de una belleza absolutamente espectacular y perfecta. Me complace mucho además su concepto estético: en primera instancia el Blue Moon es clásico, elegante y discreto. Luego de repente pesca la luz y ... ¡whooooa! se transforma en una maravilla de mutable belleza, de la cual no puedes quitar la vista. Un plus que podemos anotar es que el cristal es del tipo domo de caja, y si bien sólo es Hardlex, tiene una mínima distorsión óptica, lo cual se agradece enormemente dada la belleza de la esfera. Una agradable sorpresa resultó ser la corona. Algunos la critican porque a su juicio, es demasiado grande, y diferente de la del Cocktail Time original. A mí me evoca el estilo de la corona de un flieger, la cual por supuesto tiene como objeto el facilitar la operación de dar cuerda a mano. Y así es: resulta que dar cuerda al Blue Moon es una delicia. Hay que agradecer a Seiko el muy japonés detalle de incluir discretamente esta capa adicional de placer sensorial, para aquéllos que se tomen el trabajo de descubrirla. El brazalete de acero es de un estilo que podríamos definir algo asi como Engineer de eslabones largos. Estos son sólidos, con endlinks huecos, y el broche es oculto de tipo deployant de mariposa. Debido a esto último, no hay ajuste fino en el broche, pero hay eslabones de ajuste de media longitud. El broche la verdad no es nada de presumir: es troquelado y algo delgado... vaya, mi Komandirskie tiene mejor broche de mariposa. Una advertencia: el brazalete de acero es del tipo pin-and-collar. Ahora, el brazalete es ENORME, como para que lo use Godzilla, así que lo más probable es que vas a TENER que ajustarlo. Si no sabe uno de esta característica, es muy probable que acabe perdiendo el diminuto cilindro que fija a cada perno. Por otra parte, una vez que ya sabes como funciona este sistema, el brazalete es muy fácil de ajustar. Yo afortunadamente, y por obra del Espíritu Santo debo admitir, de inmediato me percaté de la pieza adicional que cayó del brazalete al retirar un perno, y fui a informarme en las Interwebs de qué diablos se trataba. Cada eslabón tiene dos lados. Un lado tiene TRES proyecciones hacia afuera (las piezas cepilladas). El otro lado tiene DOS proyecciones hacia afuera (las piezas pulidas). En este caso el cilindro de fijación se coloca del lado del eslabón que tiene DOS proyecciones, en la proyección que está del lado de la flechita grabada que indica la dirección de la extracción del pin. Pero la verdad, por lo menos para un noob como yo, lo mejor es primero informarse al detalle de cómo se manejan estos brazaletes. El célebre Mark de Long Island tiene en YouTube un video muy instructivo acerca de este tema como parte de su serie Watch and Learn, aunque mas bien aborda el caso de los divers. TIP: El usuario de YouTube llamado "21st Century Caveman" tiene un video en donde ajusta el brazalete de un Presage exactamente como el del Blue Moon. Pero cuidado, porque la explicación está muy bien hasta que el wey termina metiendo de regreso los pernos por el lado equivocado (por el de la flechita).
