These are great bags. They will store a large loaf of bread and protect the bread in a freezer. The gold twist ties are actual metal twist ties that stay closed.

We love these bread bags. The amount that comes in the package is great and it's awesome that the bag ties are included. The bag ties are plenty sturdy and last the use of the bag. The bags are perfect shape for almost any loaf of bread! They also hold up we in the freezer! They aren't the strongest but perfect for bread and baked good as they see gone quickly!

I like that these are a bit heavier plastic than the last bread bags I purchased. I use them for storing homemade bread and many other things. The twist ties are thin but they hold well and look great for gift giving. Highly recommended.

This was our second purchase of these bags. I can't comment on the twist ties because we don't use them. Our main uses: 1. we put farm stand produce in them which can be bulking and awkward but these work (swiss chard for example) 2. We use them for leftovers sometimes ...not that often 3. We put scraps and end cuts of veggies and bones in them for the freezer and add to the folded over opening so that in the end we have frozen contents to put into a stock pot and make a nice (never the same) broth. These bags work fine in the freezer for that use but I wouldn't consider them as a freezer bag for more important preservation. The size is wonderful.
