Great Smart Plug — Easy Setup and Works Flawlessly
Origally bought to turn our Christmas lights on at a certain time we’ve now got several Tapo devices in our home, including cameras and this Tapo P110M smart plug, and they’ve all been fantastic. The plug was very easy to set up and the Tapo app is intuitive and simple to use. We use it mainly for turning lamps on in the morning and it works exactly as expected. The smart plug integrates seamlessly with our other Tapo devices, and scheduling routines in the app makes automating lights effortless. The build quality feels solid, and the compact design doesn’t block the other socket on a standard UK outlet. If you’re already using Tapo products or want a straightforward smart plug that just works, this is a reliable and cost-effective choice.

Good quality, works perfectly.
Bought to help control millions of Christmas lights. Worked a treat. Easy to set up and use via the Tapo app. Really happy with them and can recommend. Haven’t tried to connect them to any other in-phone app but that hasn’t bothered me. Can get a decent range from the router so good for controlling things at the furthest reaches of the home.

Works very well, would recommend
I was looking for something reliable, of good quality, from a brand I trusted and most importantly: a solution which did not require a cloud account given potential security risks related to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. I chose TP-Link over the cheaper lesser know Chinese brands as I've owned a TP-Link router for almost 10 years running OpenWRT and it has worked flawlessly. The plugs were a breeze to setup and the Kasa app worked perfectly without an account; as long as you are on the same home WiFi, you can control these plugs easily and rapidly from your phone. The Kasa app is also very well designed and provides plenty of functionality. A few months ago I decided to invest in two Google Home Minis. I was sold on the idea of controlling devices via my voice. Unfortunately, the way Google controls these devices is via the cloud i.e. You link your Kasa account to Google then when giving Google Home an instruction like 'switch on the lights', the voice recording is sent from your home to Google's servers for analysis, Google 'understands' the request and sends it on to TP-Link's servers, which then sends the request to the plugs inside your home. So I reluctantly created an account with Kasa. But before that, I spent a lot of time researching security and came to the conclusion the only safe option for a secure home with IoT devices was to create a separate guest WiFi. The new network is secured in such a way that the devices can only access the internet and cannot see or speak to each other. The network is also separate from my home network. This wasn't fun and certainly not straightforward to setup in OpenWRT, but I just about managed. Later this year, I was forced down the route of cheaper Chinese brands as I needed two 300W dimmers which TP-Link did not offer as part of their home automation devices (at least not for EU markets on 220V). Last month I began experiencing issues with these plugs but not the cheap Chinese ones. Google could no longer connect to TP-Link and I had to keep asking Google Assistant to 'Sync my devices'. This issues was well documented around several forums online. However it now seems to have been resolved (no problems in the last 10 days touch wood). To summarise, I definitely recommend these plugs if you want to use these on your home WiFi using the Kasa App WITHOUT a cloud account. I'm not sure I would recommend ANY smart home plugs to control from outside your home unless you're really clued up on security. And if you are, then unbranded Chinese devices might offer you a better range of options at a lower price.

Used for monitoring energy consumption of chest freezer. So in my case is permanent ON (just in case I set switching ON every day at 00:00hrs). Power/energy monitor refresh rate is low (I believe each 5 minutes). Not sure if is a Tapo app or device limitation. But is recording data and can see the day/week/month trends.
