thinner than paper tore 2 holes in it
ended up setting it up in the woods which i guess was a mistake because its huge but thin and i ended up tearing 2 holes in it trying to put the Velcro chimney jacket on. it seems like the only way to put it on is while the tent is taken down the Velcro around the flap that covers the hole where the jacket would be gets in the way a lot -- received replacement, take care of it.

Thin, see through nylon, not strong enough
Upon delivery I open the package and immediately saw how thin the material is, I could see my hand through it. This will not be strong enough to withstand winds. Also, the stuff sack is way too small, it was difficult putting the tent back into it. I returned the tent. It is not robust enough for winter camping.

Fantastic worth the investment
Best time Eva using this tent -had so much fun - stayed warm and dry - snowed over night Easy to put together - we traveled from CA to FL via 10 national parks - Yellowstone included ‘snow time early october’

Doesn't seem very stable
Hey there. So I bought this tent to go backpacking with and I did a test run with it in my backyard. First thing wrong is that it can with the wrong instructions so I was already at a loss for how to set it up. Then when I did get the different stakes, poles, and lines set up it just didn't feel very stable. Like I'm sure the material is water proof but I wouldn't trust it in a storm because I'm fairly sure anything stronger that a light breeze would cause it to collapse. Ant the poles don't even stick into the ground so they aren't very stable. Maybe I just did it wrong because I don't have the proper instructions but it still seems rather unstable to me.

Makes for a great eating area
I was intrigued by this teepee style tent seeing as I don’t currently have one and was looking at it more for use as a breakfast/eating area than a tent, especially with the hot jack functionality. It’s been pretty hot lately so I didn’t get a chance to test the hot jack since I didn’t make a fire, however it seems like that aspect should work. The tent itself is high quality although I do sort of wish it had a footprint with a cutout near the jack but that may not have been possible due to the heat. I used my own footprint which was oddly sized for the circular shape but it worked well enough. The tent is roomy but I did have to constantly be mindful of the center pole support, I’m not used to having anything in the center and I kept running into it. I’ll probably end up using it as an eating area when car camping and for that purpose it works quite well with plenty of room for 4 people to sit with a couple portable tables. For how large the tent is the carrying sack and how small everything packs down is quite impressive, it’s really not much bigger than one of my 1.5 person tents so I really like that aspect along with the relatively light weight of the whole package.

Tent
Very thin material. The snow flap was shorter than expected. I’m sure it may be water resistant if you don’t touch it. Smaller than I expected. We returned as we were afraid the material would melt if we added a furnace. Maybe good for summer and one person who doesn’t mind a dirt floor.

Extremely spacious and lightweight tent, very easy to set up. Doesn't include mesh tent.
The photos I was able to take don't illustrate the spaciousness of this great tent. Although it says it can fit 1-4 persons inside, that is with lots of room to spare for equipment, and if you arrange them carefully it could easily accommodate 6 sleepers. Setting it up is just a matter of spreading it out, staking it around (8 stakes), setting up the center pole and then readjusting the stakes and tensioning it. It takes only a few minutes and just one person can do it easily. The material it is made from is very thin and light, making this the lightest tent of this (large) size that I have seen, It also very much waterproof and all the seams are taped and sealed. It includes a reinforced area where the pole fits at the center, although I would recommend inserting a piece of foam or a rubber ball with a hole cut in it to prolong its life. There are two zippered doors on opposite sides of the tent so if you set it up facing in the wrong direction, you an just select the other door. Or open both of them if you require more ventilation and it is not raining. Being so light, it is noteworthy that this is one of the few tents which allows cooking inside. For small stoves, the high ceiling makes it possible to cook with the heat an steam escaping through the two ventilation ports near the top. For larger stoves, it has a flap in which you can install a silicone sheet (included) which allows you to cut a hole into and poke the chimney out through there without the heat affecting the rest of the tent. Great for cooking in the rain or snow or just heating up the tent. The entire thing weight less that some of my "light" 2 person tents and packs down to about the same size including the center pole. An immediate improvement is to leave out the center pole and use your trekking poles lashed together with a bungee or strip of rubber from an inner tube (see theultralighthiker.com - genius). This brings down the weight and bulk just a bit. Also, instead of an inner mesh tent which will add considerable bulkiness to the setup, a mesh bivy or just a headnet for each sleeper will suffice to keep you bug-free. The floor is another matter, as you will need something to keep it clean and dry inside if it is raining. The pre-cut floor/footprint is available for avery reasonable price and it attaches to the same stakes you used to set up the tent, or you can just lay a sheet of polycro under each sleeper and keep the whole thing ultralight. If you do get the corresponding footprint, you can pretty much eliminate the need for mosquito netting by tucking the surrounding snow skirt under the floor and then zipping up the doors. Ventilation will not be great but if the weather allows it you can sleep bug free this way. Fantastic piece of equipment for a very reasonable price. Overkill in terms of space if you have just one or two campers, perfect for 3-4 and very light. Highly recommended!
