FRESH
My local grocery stores, Walmart included, stopped carrying Sun-Maid California Sun-Dried Zante Currants. Amazon is the only seller convenient to me. I use Zante Currants when making Welsh Cakes (pictured) or with other dried fruit in yogurt. The currants are fresh, soft and moist. Perfect for healthy snacking out of hand and baking. They taste similar to a raisin, but more tart. Perfect when adding to sweet recipes such as quick breads and cookies.

fresh and flavorful in my fruitcakes
I usually soak all the raisins (golden and regular) and currants for my fruitcakes the night before, to soften and plump them up for the long and low baking they will endure. I forgot to add these golden raisins to the rest! Luckily, they were pretty tender right from the box, so I added them to bottom of the giant mixing bowl with a little bit of water while I mixed up the rest of the non-fruit ingredients and they were as soft as the rest when the dough went into the mini bundt pans. They also have a nice, bright and sweet flavor just for snacking on!

Fantastic!
Excellent currants. It is a hard to find fruit in the store. We have always eaten a lot of currants growing up we think they taste better than raisins.

So glad I could find them online
These are delicious and perfect for a recipe that I do every year at the holidays. I would not have ordered them online if I could've found them in the store. But I was glad to have this option. And because they are individually packaged, I know they will be fresh when I open them to use them.

Arrived fresh and tasty
Great value for the price. Nice plump raisins. Just what you would expect from the sunmaid brand

It's sunmaid
For Americans that don't know, they taste like raisins, only smaller.

Perfect Currants.
We use currants to add to our trail mix because we actually prefer the smaller sized raisons to the larger ones. Because its a four pack, and each pack is resealable, we find the the currants remain very fresh. I noted that some other purchasers found the currants to be a bit stale or dry ....but ours were perfect. Very happy with the purchase.

Excellent product. I buy them all the time.
I love these currents. Not only are they good in oatmeal, yogurt, or anything else like cookies, but they’re also good and some savory dishes. You might be surprised how well they go with kale, for example. They can also be really good in a quinoa salad, especially if you’re using some vinegar and you want to balance the flavor out with something a little sweet. Also great in a lentil salad with walnuts. In addition, the packaging keeps them very fresh. For ease-of-use I like to transfer them into a glass jar.
