Blackspur - Galvanised Steel Bucket - 12L

Have bought several of these buckets as garden planters, have always arrived on time, undamaged. Not sure if they’re leak-free if used as a conventional bucket but appear very well made and no reason to suspect they would leak. Have a very shiny galvanised appearance which makes them brilliant as a planter. Obviously, just needed to drill several holes in bottom for drainage. Would I buy again ? Very much so, and probably will again next year, really chuffed with them.

I bought this bucket to top got ash from my fire into. It's a good size and fairly cheap,but it's not heavy duty as advertised. I'm not expecting it to last more than one winter. But, you get what you pay for.

It’s a nice bucket as far as buckets go and it holds water.

I keep 4 of these buckets for taking coal to the fire, and removing the ash and cinders. They last several years performing these functions until the constant hot ash causes perforation of the base. Once this happens I redeploy the leaky buckets for use in the garden and greenhouses. They are then used for mixing composts, storing various materials, collecting vessels for fruit and vegetables or deadheading etc, and even as plant pots. These buckets are well made for general purpose use, and relatively heavy duty functions, where the easier to source plastic buckets are damaged by coarse materials like rubble and become scored and uncleanably dirty, or are simply not strong enough to take the weight. Strong, light, waterproof, heat tolerant and highly adaptable, these buckets are an excellent value old fashioned product.

The capacity is only 10L not 12L as per the description. They seem decent enough buckets and will do for what we need them so not worth the hassle to return. Only time will tell if they are hard wearing but seem sturdy enough.

I bought this as a waste bucket for my garden and it works very well for this. Appears to be well constructed.
