Gold River Hex Scenario Game Pieces compatible with Catan's Settlers of Catan, Seafarers, and Catan Expansions (1 Hex)

We played one of the expansion Catan games at our friends house and used the gold tiles for the first time. We have the 5-6 player expansion for the original Catan game and love it and just wanted to add the gold tiles to our current set up. These tiles worked perfectly for our needs. We only use 2 of them and use them in place of the desert tiles.

My group plays Catan regularly and when I saw this I thought I could surprise them. They were very surprised. The piece fits perfectly into the board and adds a neat variety to the game. The rules are clear the quality is probably better than the Catan hex’s, although you can’t tell the difference. In our few game almost every seven rolled or knight card played had this hex blocked, but that’s the way it goes. Overall, fun, we’ll definetley use this hex next time.

Beautiful 😍 BUT!!! So it Fits well, looks GREAT, packaging is spot on, but the play is so so… like the top of the tile works great but You cannot use to play “fog” with these tiles because the Logo on the back gives away the secrets of the hidden map. So I can only use it for half the purpose. Which is super disappointing, I wanted to make a hidden treasure island 🏝️ and other fun ideas to force exploration of the map and this is easily identifiable compared to other tiles. Perhaps in the future the logo could be on the front like trim or part of the art. It’s only a problem because it limits game play. Which Really made me wanna give only 3stars but I’m going off the assumption Most People don’t play with hidden features. So 4 stars because it’s not as versatile as it should be. Otherwise it’s very good quality and beautiful art.
