2 Player Game - Checker Pieces Only (Red, Black)

I was leery after reading so many negative reviews about ordering just checker sets: cheap balsa wood, thin, cracked/broken, felt circles underneath so they don't stack, etc. But I needed 2" checkers for my husband's old chess set. THESE ARE AWESOME CHECKERS, sold by We Games, 2" size. They are normal weight for checkers, they stack for the kings, perfectly fitting the top one's extended smaller circular base into the deeper lower one's circular top level; they come in a fabric drawstring bag to keep them together, they fit the 2" squares on the board, they are well made and sturdy, and they are a quality wood and paint or dye job. No bad smell. Only pros, no cons! Beware: the bad reviews must be coming from other checker sets that didn't tell who the seller was, not these. Be sure to look for We Games for 2" ones. I imagine the other sizes are good too, but I can only vouch for our 2" ones. We are VERY satisfied customers!!

The red/black 1.5" wood checker pieces by WE Games are excellent quality at a great price. When I received my order, one piece was split and two pieces were chipped, so I requested replacements for those three pieces. Wood Expressions (WE) responded the same day and kept me informed about the replacements, which I received five days after original receipt. Final product looks great on the checkers/chess table made by my grandfather. WE customer service was outstanding. Highly recommend this product and this company.

The checker pieces are just about the perfect size for a tournament sized chess board (2.25" squares). I think for $10 this was a good deal, for real wooden checker pieces and a nice drawstring bag. A few of the checker pieces have splits and cracks, and the wood seems very lightweight (obviously not a hardwood like maple, probably pine or something similar). But for nice heavy checker pieces, I would expect a higher price. I would love to have some nice checkers made of Uria stone, but that would cost 3x as much as this set of checkers.

We had an old golden oak table that we wanted to repurpose to a game table. I started laying out a 2”checkerboard but it looked small so bumped it up to 2 1/4. I had purchased the smaller checkers and there was no problem returning and ordering the bigger size. The quality of the 2” checker is perfect. Even comes with a cute canvas bag.

I actually bought these for a board game I'm making with the intention of embellishing them further. The pieces are smooth with a good quality feel to them, and the concentric circle design is lovely. They are a massive improvement over cheap plastic checkers and are easy to pick up, stack, or move. Perfect!
