You get what you pay for

I was waiting for my colleague to use this drone so I could learn under the tutelage of a videographer who's a pro at drones. Unfortunately, he fell ill, then the weather was bad, so I finally mustered up the courage to learn on my own. Well...not a good idea and I'd like to think I'm fairly intelligent.The manual was so confusing to me, especially with the whole process of installing blades that were already installed. As can be seen in one of the pics, I got it calibrated and thought I was good to go but the app was a pain in the you-know-whatty for me and I could never get the "unlock" feature to work. I saw many comments and suggestions from other users in the app and that was the main suggestion. I'm using Android and it never worked for me. However, a friend got it to work once on an Apple device.I ordered this drone to use for outdoor productions. Since Jim's (my colleague) on the mend, the weather's turning and he has Apple devices, he'll be the one capturing all the footage from this unit. I gave up because I don't wanna kill it before we even get started. After reviewing it on a video call, he assures me he'll be able to use it and teach me as well. Meanwhile, this drone has great features:1- A hard, protective case.2- Operates with remote or phone (mount attached).3- Two calibration modes.4- GPS on/off options.5- Many quality options for flight modes, lens adjustments, photo/video with filters.With all this potential, Jim says it's sold at a good price point.

This is my first drone and I’ve never flown one before. I always thought I’d be dissatisfied with a low-end model that had no useful features. But I did not want to invest in an expensive one in case I broke it or didn’t like it. The 4DRC F12 GPS Drone was a nice compromise with a good quality/feature to price ratio. The many features seemed a bit overwhelming at first. But you don’t need to know it all to do some basic flying. You can try out the other features after getting the hang of it.OVERVIEW: This is a nice aircraft for beginners. It is pretty quiet and fairly easy to fly. It has lots of advanced features for the price including beginner/experienced modes, auto take-off and land, return home, automatic low battery return, follow me, waypoint, orbit, headless mode, dual 4K cameras, and several others. It can be controlled by the included remote or app for Android or IOS phones and tablets. The app is pretty nice and easy to understand and must be used for most of the advanced features. The remote has a good clamp that holds your cell phone as a monitor. The listing claims a total of 50 minutes run time using the 2 included batteries, but actual time is about 30 minutes. Comes with everything you need to get started, including spare blades and a decent carrying case with slots for everything.USER MANUAL: The English is not perfect, and the instructions are a little hard to follow in some places. For example, some app instructions are placed within remote sections making it confusing. The app always tries to guide you through calibration even if you have already done it through the remote. While all control functions are described, it lacks good flight and landing instructions. The manual seems to assume that this is not your first drone.FINAL WORD: Though not perfect, overall, I am impressed and happy with this drone.

This is a cool little GPS drone for beginners, it's super easy to fly and flys really good too, the brushless motor do a pretty good job at keeping the drone in place in a small amount of wind and they have some good speed too, I was impressed at how fast this drone flys on the top speed, the failsafe features work really good, the drone automatically started coming back to me when the battery reach a certain low point, the return to home works pretty good as well but the drone does tend land about 5 or 6ft from the landing pad where it took off from, but it does come home, the camera on this drone is not the greatest, the video is definitely not 4K, maybe 1080P at best and there is a lot of shakiness in the video, it has the basic intelligent features like follow me and point of interest and there easy to get to and to do through the app, the battery life is not that bad, I have been getting close to 15 to 16 mins of flight time out of each battery, overall for the price I think this is a decent little drone for someone just starting out.
