Bocchi the Rock!, Vol. 2: Volume 2

My first copy came badly damaged, but after contacting customer service they replaced it immediately. Brilliant story about four very unique characters who become a rock band and good friends. I recommend watching the anime (which is fantastic) & hope they make a second season which should pick up from roughly half way through this volume of the manga.

Volume 2 of Bocchi the Rock! continues the story of high schooler Hitori Gotoh and her experience as the new guitarist of the Kessoku Band. Having gained some initial experience, the members of Kessoku decide where to go next including trying to get to know each other better along with a major show at a school culture festival. For fans of the anime, the season 1 material ends in this volume, so fans get a chance to see what happens after the series' first season ended. The artwork in this volume is great all around. As with the first volume, this volume continues with the expressive characters especially with the exaggerated expressions of the main character Hitori. The only minor criticism I have of the art is that in some panels it was unclear which character was supposed to be speaking due to the occasional wonky placement of speech bubbles. I enjoyed the direction that the story takes in this volume. The story mainly revolves around Hitori herself and her push to succeed in the band. While she still struggles a lot with nervousness and anxiety, it is admirable seeing her step out of her comfort zone (if albeit reluctantly at times) to experience something new. Of course, along the way, there is a healthy dose of comedy in the storytelling which kept things very entertaining. Overall, this was a good installment that is sure to be enjoyed by fans of either the anime series or the first volume of the manga.

Nada que agregar, el anime es increíble y el manga no se queda corto. No le doy 5 estrellas porque llegaron sin protección. Parece que son de segunda mano porqué no traían ningun plástico que los protegiera y tienen los bordes un poco gastados. De ahí en fuera todo bien.

The manga is very nice, I have no objections from it. I'd say that the delivery is improved as compared to other people's reviews. Though mine also had minor (very minor) scratches/bumps, but it's fine. This manga is highly recommended by me to everyone who enjoys watching Comedy and Slice of Life stories.
