All the sheers to come in the package are very nice they cut very well easy to use.. very smooth mechanism.

The shears came sharp and all of them cut very well. They work on all coat types well. The case they came in is also very good quality, especially for the price. My only critique is that the color started rubbing off immediately once removed from the case

I began grooming my little boy (Shih Tzu) at home after covid slammed the doors closed on "life as usual". I bought a modestly priced set of shears and taught myself how to use them (with a lot of help from YouTube!) It's two years later now and I decided to upgrade my set. During a lengthy conversation with a local groomer, I asked what she would recommend that I get. She didn't miss a beat: "Go on Amazon," she said, "and get a set of Purple Dragon shears." I did... and I love them. The set includes two pairs of curved shears (downward and upward curves are so much easier with these!) a pair of thinning shears (mandatory for blending in the fur and "erasing" any mistakes), straight shears, a sturdy suede-like polishing cloth, and a handy key to adjust the tension on the shears. The zippered case keeps each pair separated in its own compartments. A velvet divider further protects the shears by preventing them from touching when the case is closed. I love the portability! Rubber spacers keep the shears from making too much noise as you work. Quieter shears help my dog remain calm. My hands rejoiced at how lightweight these are. But most importantly, the ability of Purple Dragon shears to get through my pup's thick, double-coated fur is outstanding. You REALLY want to exercise utmost caution when using these shears because they are, indeed, very sharp. I saw that a few other reviewers had to get their sets sharpened only two weeks after use. This was absolutely not the experience I've had. The only thing that I can imagine is that trying to cut through fur that's heavily matted or dirty may have caused their shears to lose their sharpness. If you find that the shears are "folding" the fur instead of cutting it, it means you need to adjust the tension with the regulator that's provided. Remember to set the bar high on hygiene for your grooming equipment. Trust me, it will perform better and last much longer. I do not finish a grooming session until all of the combs, clippers, brushes, and shears have been thoroughly sanitized, dried, and replaced in their protective cases. Obviously, I can't finish this review of Purple Dragon shears without mentioning their phenomenally GORGEOUS aesthetic! They are as beautiful in person as they are in the photos. I chose the electroplating purple, and they look really beautiful. The only thing I disliked about this set is I have always preferred shears with rounded-off tips. Other than that? These are wonderful and I'd recommend them to anyone

These are really sharp!! So far, they are working great. I'm hoping they hold up well to being sharpened. They are comfortable enough for grooming multiple dogs per day. I love the color

The shears themselves are very nice but they are very dull. The entire reason I bought these shears was so that I could have a fresh set while my master grooming tools shears were out to get sharpened, and even now I’m still going to have to purchase another set of scissors somewhere else because the quality of the scissors is again really great but I can’t even use three out of four pairs because of how dull these scissors were upon arrival. So all in all don’t waste your time, the only reason I have a three star rating is because the scissors are cute and nicely weighted, so if you’re willing or wanting to spend money to have them sharpened great. If you need scissors to use ASAP do not buy these.

I am an amateur home groomer with medium experience, and my wife is a professional hairstylist. We were not expecting much from this purchase because it was so inexpensive, but I love them and my wife thought it was a great value. Before they arrived she was ostracizing for spending the money when we have so many retired pairs of professional scissors lying around (some as much as $500 ea), but once she saw how well they worked, and how nicely packaged they were in a nice looking, good quality zip case, she let me off the hook. I LOVE the curved scissors, and my wife is intrigued with how useful they are around the feet, legs, and ears. I have the feeling she will get a curved pair to use on her customers, lol. The pearlescent-purple color of the scissors is awesome, and because they are all the same color and have a place to go in the kit, I don't see my scissors being separated or borrowed by anyone in the house. I have read that some people had problems with the blades overlapping and not cutting the hair, but I have not had such problems. Aware of the possibility, I have kept them very clean and have been careful not to drop them. I wipe them with a clean cloth with a little Andis blade cleaner on it, dry them, and use the included swede, or swede-like cloth that is included in the kit for a final buffing. There is also an adjustment tool included if you need to tighten them up, I have not had to touch the adjustment so far. I will buy these again, "if necessary," this will be cheaper than sharpening one expensive pair. After using them several times without seeing any degradation in how they cut, I expect them to last a long time. Don't hesitate to buy, I am very happy with this purchase.

Nice to start out in a not too-expensive way (the brand ones go for 100+ euro per 1 scissor). I tried it and figured out I like dog grooming and purchased more expensive scissors. Went on a grooming course with both these and the expensive ones, trying all of them. The groomer took the chunkers from this set to demonstrate something and her comment was "it's not very sharp". The scissors (straight and curved) were okay. So you do get what you pay for, but this is cheap enough to give it a try - and be sure you really want to get into grooming - without investing a fortune. 4 stars, because I still expect all scissors to be sharp.
