Cangshan HELENA Series German Steel Forged Knife Block Set (12-Piece, Black), Oprah's Favorite Things 2023

Bought this for my husband. It’s a really great quality sharp set. We use it almost everyday and have had it almost 5 months. I wash by hand as recommended and I make sure they are totally dry before they go back in the block. I’ve had no rust spots at all. The knives feel balanced, good weight, smooth handles and as mentioned earlier, they are sharp and cut with ease. I think the set was a great value and will keep this company in mind for any future purchases.

Very sharp...like surgical sharp. They will dull with use as all knives do but they arrived razor (literally) sharp. Excellent weight and balance. They are a pleasure to use. Very precise cutting and they just feel great while using them. Aesthetically they are beautiful. No blemishes or dings on any of them, and the holder is attractive sitting on the counter. I am taking care of them- no dishwasher, immediately clean and put them away dry, these will last a long,long time for me. Highly recommend these, definitely worth the price..

Extremely sharp. Great value for the cost.

So to preface the review I like nice knives but have been using the same Chicago Cutlery wooden handled knives for 15 years. Those of fine and held up well but these are way nicer. Very well balanced and light. They all came well packaged and sharp. The handles were well smoothed out without any edges or cracks. My only critique is that the knife block has you slide the knives in sideways which will take some getting use to. It’s just a little more difficult to get the knives in the block. The block and knives are really pretty in my opinion.

These are not just beautiful, but sharp too. It is so nice to use a sharp knife.

If you're looking at these, or similar knives on Amazon and considering a purchase then you're not likely enough of a knife snob to be unhappy with them. If you were, you'd have been on knife forums researching all this. These knives are made of the same steel that most of these knife sets in this price range are made of. The differences in sets will mostly be geometric or subjective differences from one to the other. The handle of my Chef's knife formed a crack between the rivet/pin and the bottom of the white polymer part of the handle. This occurred near the end of the first month of ownership. I don't wash my knives in the dishwasher and it had not been dropped. I sent an email to Cangshan via the hello@ email address provided on their website, with a pic of the handle. I received a reply the next morning that they were shipping me a new Chef's knife. I took delivery of it today. Not sure why the handle cracked but very happy with the customer service on the product here. They were quick to respond and it was evident that they have a solid process to correct any issues with their product. I am a Vine reviewer but I bought these knives from Amazon at the typical posted Amazon price. The set was not provided to me for free, I only received a Chef's knife for free when I advised them that one of mine had a problem. I have not been asked by Cangshan nor given any incentive to write a review here. I just wanted to point out that I am happy with the knives, they're typical steel for this type/price range of knife set, and that my experience with the company was fantastic.

This is a beautiful, balanced and sharp set of kitchen knives. They add to our enjoyment of cooking.

They started out very sharp. Thought they would be great considering how expensive they were. Within 6 months wont cut anything . Save your money.
