Ordered this device on free delivery and came 3 days early. Reason I order this is because I have a Surface Pro 3, Logitech MX Mouse (USB wireless adaptor) and a Western Digital My Passport Ultra 1 TB, SanDisk Ultra 3.0 64 GB. All work perfectly fine and copying from the SanDisk, I was getting average 120mb/s. I travel into London with my Surface Pro everyday and keep this in my bag but normally comes in handy at home where I can use the mouse and transfer movies etc over Ethernet as well as use the mouse and drives. Like the fact that it is shaped to fit the Surface Pro 3. Does not cover the charging port but does cover the HD out port, not and issue for me.

I'm sure this works fine, but I want t o make it clear: Surface Pro 3 does not power multiple large hard drives. A single large (2TB) drive is fine, but two and you'll be met with USB power surge warnings and nothing will read.

i got a surface 3 (not pro) and i bought the RJ model with ethernet, it fits perfectly and i am still able to charge with micro usb cable. the only complain is that you cannot use the stock cable that comes with the surface.

Does the job on my Surface 2

You can't use the mini display port when this is plugged in, but other than that it's very handy for the times when I'm at a client site and they don't have a WiFi service and I've left my dock behind. For the price it's a good buy.
