Restored My Scratched Meta Oculus Quest 2 Lenses in under 2 minutes
This polishing pad kit, combined with Novus Plastic Polish, is an absolute game-changer for restoring scratched plastics and optics. I've now repaired over 20 Meta Quest 2 headsets with this single kit, and the pads are still going strong. I was so confident in this kit that I intentionally scratched my Quest 2's left lens with sandpaper just to demonstrate the repair process (see my attached video). After about 90 seconds of polishing, the lens looked brand new again. Perfect clarity, no visible scratches. I would use a lot of caution if you're going to use this on any headset other than the Meta Quest 2. Most Car headlights and taillights are an easy task and not a problem at all. I also used these on reading glasses, and they work perfectly. Just be careful with glasses that have anti-glare coatings because the polish will take that right off. I would definitely only do this on reading glasses that are scratched and you would throw away anyway. If you're doing critical work, a random orbital polisher would be better. But on intricate work like this, I can polish lenses without needing a random orbital polisher with excellent optical results. The trick is keeping the pad moving all the time and trying to imagine that you're putting even pressure across the entire surface. So the end result is that every part of the lens has the same amount of polishing done. Never sit in one place. For Quest 2 lenses, I recommend the 2-inch softest pad at 500-1000 RPM with just light pressure, as scratches come out very quickly. You're not going to get deep scratches out all the way though, this is for lighter scratches. For car headlights, use the 3-inch pad at up to 1000 RPM. If you want minimal overspray, stay under 500 RPM, but you could actually go all the way up to 2000+ RPM with no problem if you don't mind the liquid flying everywhere. Start with the fine polish. Only use heavy polish if scratches don't come out after 2-4 minutes. Keep the pads wet by adding polish every 2 minutes to prevent heat buildup. Don't exceed 1000 RPM or the polish will start flying off. The 2-inch pads work best for VR lenses since the 3-inch can interfere with the headset frame. If you do use the heavy polish, you should finish up with a minute or so of the fine polish to get the best optics. One note for Quest 3 owners: I'd exercise caution due to the achromatic lens coating. The Quest 2 is much easier to work with since it lacks this coating. I estimate I could repair hundreds of devices with the pads included. After 20 headset restorations, I'm still using the same 2" pad with perfect results. Highly recommended for anyone doing optical or plastic restoration work.

Removed oxidation from fiberglass boat
These worked very well to work through different levels of abrasiveness when removing severe oxidation from fiberglass boat using correction compound and polishing compound.

Looked Good, But Fell Flat
“I was excited about the variety in this set, but after a couple of uses, some of the pads started breaking down and shedding. The smaller ones worked okay on trim, but the larger pads didn’t hold up under moderate pressure. It felt more like a starter kit than something you could rely on long-term. Instead of leaving my car glossy, it left me feeling a little… deflated.”
