First, it's a great gaiwan, can't go wrong for the price, with the cute raised carp on the lid, the nice sea-green cup, the soft colors of the lotus and dragonfly, and the nice brown rim. The description states a capacity of 3.4oz, however, and it is 4.25oz (125ml) to the bottom of the lid (almost 6.25oz (>175ml) to the top), so not exactly what I was hoping. I will probably keep it anyways, since I don't have a gaiwan quite that size and it'll be nice as an in-between. The packaging was terrible and there was no cushion between the cup and saucer, so naturally the saucer broke in transit. Don't care, though, as I don't use the saucers. The lid had foam to cushion, so it remained intact.

While a little on the small side , works well in the small space on my desk. Super cute

Gaiwan is very pretty but not practical unless you are drinking alone. Still very pretty to display and definitely worth using during solo sessions. The description says 7.5oz capacity. Which is inaccurate. My clear gaiwan pictured holds 7.5oz if you fill it to the brim. Koi/lotus held 5 ounces before spilling over, so realistically, It probably only has 4 ounces worth of usable capacity.
