Have not built it yet, but the plans are very high quality
I enjoy building wooden models of cars, trucks, tractors, etc., and one thing that can make or break the scale look of the finished product is the wheels. Trying to cut realistic looking tire treads into wooden wheels is difficult, especially when it is for tractors and heavy construction vehicles. I have often thought about trying to build some kind of rudimentary jig to do this, and have seen a few examples that others have built, but this one is next level….maybe two or three levels! The design is very flexible for varying wheel sizes and the plans are extremely thorough, detailed and well laid-out. This is definitely on my list of projects to build, and I will update this review when I have completed it.

Great creative project.
Lots of pictures that follow individual instructions. Extremely easy to read and follow. However, on the materials page, wooden products are not listed, sizes and shapes. You must find the page with wooden parts and figure individually what you'll need to achieve the results.

No way to find the hardware!
I have to say this is a great concept on a jig if you work with larger heirloom type toys and especially tractors, earth movers, combines, etc. The graphics, drawings, instructions and photos will absolutely lead you through a complex jig project. BUT, I challenge you to find a 72 tooth .25 pitch sprocket that this calls for, along with all of the screw hubs, shaft collars and spacers that are to be found at Servocity.com. Doesn’t exist as far as I can tell. The bearings can be found through Amazon with a lot of searching but they are a moot point without all of the other hardware needed to start, let alone complete. I applaud the author on a unique jig and how well it is explained and illustrated but why not put a hardware kit together for people who want to build this without spending enormous amounts of money, time and effort to get all of the required materials together. I’ve requested a return of the book since I’m already into $20+ and hours of time searching for items that don’t seem to exist. Just be aware.

Sprocket supply challenge
The plans are as professional as they come; clear, complete, and ample clear pictures. I fully intend to complete all the projects in the series. Be aware though that several sprockets spec'd for the build seem to not be available anywhere, so completing this may require some creativity to work around supply challenges.
