Replacement TC Traditional & Contemporary Toilet Seat Soft Close Hinges

This was a like for like replacement and works perfectly with TC seat & lid. Previous hinges replaced after 12 years of use before failing. Arrived ahead of scheduled delivery date. One of the copious sizes on web image did not make sense, but measured print out to confirm that measurement before purchase.

Not sure where we got our toilet from but I spent weeks looking for a replacement seat after the hinges fell apart but couldn’t find one that fitted the holes. These hinges are a perfect fit to replace the broken ones, I couldn’t believe it. They are a bit fiddly to put together but they fit like the originals and good quality too

Good quality replacement hinges. Easy to install. Bought to replace original hinges that failed after 12 years. They look exactly like the originals; chrome plated cast aluminium body and silicone seals so hope they will last as long. The soft close of both lid and seat work well ( both take around 2 seconds to close with no noise or bounce). Previously ordered, reviewed and returned a cheaper version which turned out to be plastic with almost no soft close function. Very pleased so far though the price does seem a little high. This was the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars

Well made metal casting. Fitted well. A small observation, needed a slightly smaller tool to access grub screws when fitting with a close-coupled cistern on the pan (I also have sausage fingers!). Apart from that, product looks smart and works very well. Fit: Easy to fit apart from my comment above. Quality: Feels very sturdy with good damping action.

Feels better than the product that I purchased last year made from ABS which didn’t last and performed poorly. At 3 times the cost it feels stronger was easy to install and certainly performs better. Time will tell if it was worth it.

These soft close toilet seat hinges are good quality and easy to fit. Recommended.

The actual hinges and mounting posts are a perfect replacement and match the old ones exactly. A big let down was the plastic plugs that allow top fixing. These did not grip the pan so would not tighten. Working in a confined space I had to thread my arm and a small pair of pliers underneath to grip the plug whilst still turning the allen key from the top. Presumably the originals were put in by the plumber before putting the toilet in place. My pack was missing the 3mm allen key needed for the grub screws on the back of the hinges.

It took a lot of effort, involving a plumber, to get the old hinge attachments out, but once they were out of the way; the new anchors were placed on the toilet, the seat and hidden brackets were attached and tightened, all within a matter of four minutes. Result one smoothly, silently soft closing toilet seat and lid back in action.
