I bought this battery to replace one that I had put in a Switch Pro controller when upgrading it with different shells/LEDs. The old one had stopped holding charge and was bulging, so this was a necessary replacement. So far a few weeks in, it holds charge well, but we will see how it does after a year of use. The screwdriver that came with it worked just fine to access the battery compartment and the new one fit right in like a glove. Good value and quick install

It worked. It is still working after 4 months. What more can a person say about a battery?

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Now this an interesting item to review because its claiming its 2000 MAH. I have replaced many 2DS/3DS line batteries in my lifetime. The battery life does not seem to be any better than the 1300 MAH battery that was replaced. The orginal battery was lasting around 5 hours I was told; "I said okay I'll order another." Swapped it out did a timer test for it to be at 4hours 20 min. I said let the console do its thing for week to recalibrating, index etc. Im just not sure about this brand for a battery, If I was being realistic if the battery was holding less 80% charge you would truly notice, but this seems more like a 1000mah battery. So in conclusion if your 3DS needs a battery because your charge is less than 4hours buy it absolutely. However I might return if it doesnt improve.

All Nintendo Consoles are made with Tri-Wing Screws. You need a tri-wing screwdriver to open it. The provided "repair tool" is just a small phillips. Hopefully the battery itself works but now I have to order a screw driver.

Gave new life to my 3ds. I think the battery time is a lot longer than the original. But I never timed the original.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It has a higher capacity than other and was well reviewed. Functionality: works good, holds charge well Ease of installation: Ok this is a pretty big caveat: if you’re buying for a 3DS, don’t worry, that should be very easy. If you’re buying for a New 2DS XL on the other hand, you need to be ready. I’d recommend looking at the iFixIt tutorial for this as the disassembly can be tedious and you risk breaking various parts of your console if you’re not careful. Fit: Fits in perfectly Value for money: Great battery to extend your console’s battery life and give it a breath of new life.
