John Deere RE519626 Oil Filter

This filter fits my John Deere 5045E. The product is great and good quality but is a total nightmare to install and remove not because of the oil filter product but due to beyond insane design by John deere. There is insufficient space around the cylinder to get a chain strap wrench on it and there is minimal end clearance making it impossible to get a rubber end cap remover or a solid band strap wrench on it and although you can get a rubber band strap around it, there is only a quarter of the circumference exposed so you can't get the strap tight as the lever hits the side of the engine before it is tight. I eventually got it tight enough to stop it leaking but the design on the 5045E is somewhere near insane especially when there is no management or any possibility of catching the oil spilling out as you remove the filter so it goes everywhere. Good filter, working well and would recommend for John Deere 5045E, but if you own a 5045E then you are in for a very messy frustrating oil change so be prepared and have spill management materials available.

This filter is same as the one that came on the tractor.

The seller is wrong about this fitting a 5410 tractor. Now I have to return the thing with my tractor unable to move!
