4-4.5 stars for book 1 of the Deana-Dhe series by Bea Paige
I pretty much love anything this author writes. She really takes the time to delve into her characters, in to this shared world so many are interconnected with. I love all the cameos/mentions, it must be exhausting trying to keep all of the characters and timeline in mind when writing new romances in the world. Kudos to her!I was always intrigued by Arden, Lorcan, and Carrick when we met them in 2 other stories in this interconnected world. Their story actually surprised me a bit, in a good way. They were horrible as kids, so cruel to Cyn. I couldnt believe some of the things they ended up doing to her. This is definitely a bullying book when they are kids. We get the flashbacks and present time in book 1 so we get to see why they treat her now the way they do. In present day its definitely not bullying, more enemies to lovers. I am really interested in Cyn as an FMC. She is one of my favorite of this authors and I would totally want her on my side in a fight haha. I love the herbology, alchemy, almost witchcraft edge this book has. The author toes the line and I am here for it. I love the tinctures she makes and how she can affect the guys so easily but has so much restraint its not even funny. The tension as kids between the 4 characters was so palpable. I did not like Carrick, not gonna lie. But somehow this author made me love him by the end. I usually go for the Lorcan character and not saying I didnt like him, but he actually wasn't my favorite, Arden was. Something about him trying to keep the group together, how he looks out for everyone, the leader and martyr in some respects. I think him cracking with Cyn as kids and in the present day was my favorite arc. Not saying Lorcan didnt give him a run for his money haha. The pool scene...daaaaaang. So if you don't like some darkness in your romance, if you don't like some kinks, maybe this isn't the book for you. There are a couple different kinks and some darker scenes, but nothing as dark or menacing as The Masks if you have read that duet from this author. OH and can I say how excited I am for some MM?!?!?! Guilty pleasure, not gonna lie, and there were hints in book 1, which makes sense with how close the guys are, and I hope we get more in book 2! There wasn't a lot of actual steam in this one, but a lot of tension, voyeurism, and one overall scene towards the end. The author won't do us dirty, she will give us tons of steam in book 2 I bet, just with how her other books have panned out and this one being more than 50% in flashbacks as kids it makes sense.I cannot wait for book 2 next year. I am so excited to see what happens when some of our old friends come to play. The way the Deana-Dhe figure things out at the end and how they have to eat crow made me giggle so hard. Cyn's secrets are finally out in the open, the Deana-Dhe have to go to war, and the fireworks are going to go off with some reunions. I have my popcorn and soda ready to watch this all unfold. I really am going to be so incredibly sad when this author says farewell to this shared universe/interconnected world, these characters make their own families, they keep building it up with each new story, and the author letting us in on that is so amazing and heartwarming. Great job again, definitely recommend this if you love this author. I would recommend not starting with this book though if you are new to her. It will have more impact if you read The Masks first.

This is amazing!
I've read Bea's books and this series that can be read as stand a alone duet but I recommend reading , at least The Duet " The Dancer and the Masks before this one. It's very connected to this duet. It's a very dark reverse Harem, as this one is, it's got the same very twisted and difficult sex scenes also. However, this Duet refers to Cyn and her relationship with her childhood friends, The Masks. In this series we learn how her involvement with the mysterious Deana- Dea started and her awful, hate filled relationship happened with these three teens now men. As for the writing its flawless! Bea has a rare talent to take us to places that we feel the pain, both physically and emotionally, of these very strong women. She doesn't make ugliness in these men look pretty or attractive. No, Bea gives us the pain and the heartache and then brings the reader full circle and gives the reader the insight to these human monsters. Eventually I fell in love with her goodness and her love for these men. Cyn is a true healer but not only for the physical but for the entire human being and I think through her healing others she heals herself. If you're going to read this, I suggest reading the Dancer and the masks first but if not after so you'll understand the connection between all of them. Bea gives us that HEA we all need after reading these types of books. It's not a traditional dark romance or reverse harem. There's some M/M but its not a detailed amount. It's actually understandable considering the relationship between these three men. Read the triggers on these books and the Dancer and the masks books because if you're sensitive to dark and twisted content then these aren't for you. Bea explains this so don't complain if it's too much for you. If you're like me, I am totally into very dark and twisted romance books. As long as they're well written. This is all of that and more! Now, I'm going to emerge myself in book two if this Duet. Thank you Bea for putting your heart and soul in your books because I for one am not reading a book I'm experiencing it!

Another great book in this world
I swear this time this is my favorite first book in one of Bea Paige’s series (until the next one most likely). I was so happy that Cyn was going to have her own story after we were introduced to her in the Their Obsession duet. She was such a strong and fascinating character and I knew her story would be mesmerizing.I loved that this story flipped back and forth between the past and present so we were able to gain a deeper understanding of just how deep their connection goes. The tension, betrayal, understanding, chaos… it all came together for an explosive ending.Highly recommend reading the Their Obsession duet for more background but you can read this duet without. I cannot wait for the conclusion and to see who will make a cameo.

Just amazing
I waited patiently for Debts and Diamonds to release , well maybe more like not so patiently . Loved hearing from Cyn again we met her in Their Obsession Duet she was known as number 13 and worked for the Masks. Arden ,Lorcan and Carrick form the Deana-Dhe they trade in debts and secrets and lies and Cyn goes to them to find out who killed her mother and now they’ve cashed her debt to them in. Each of the guys are so different but yet the same as in none of them will admit how they feel about Cyn especially Carrick who treats her like she’s his biggest enemy, but you can see through the cracks in his armour and you know how he really feels for her . This was another huge hit for me from Bea Paige and I can’t wait for book 2 and watching heads roll as they work hand in hand with the Masks to save Cyn.
