I am a huge fan of SP memory and memory products. I have been buying a lot from them recently. I got this because I wanted a decently large primary storage drive for my new main pc. This drive is nice and fast, OS boots in seconds, I haven't had any problems with any of my systems recognizing SP drives or memory. Installation was a snap, and performance was as advertised. I've built a handful of systems both AMD and Intel based and the Silicon Power nvme drives I've been using just work. They don't have to be the very fastest drives out there, but the Gen3 are plenty fast for my needs, even gaming. These are fantastic options that don't cost a ton.

Originally bought a 4tb crucial but this was half the price and works perfect . Sent back the crucial and kept this . If it works for you save yourself the money . Again only had it a week but no issues , I cloned hard drive to this , and it’s being used as the c drive, only had one m.2 slot so toon advantage of it with this , being used as boot drive and storage for all computer games , my son is a gamer , everything loads quick and perfectly . Will see how it lasts . It does have its own program that you can download that tells you the temps of the sad, the storage , the health , estimated life expectancy how accurate that is I don’t know but there is a lot of information that it does tell you pertaining to the drive, which I believe most of these m.2 ssds have some program that is used. But so far it’s working perfectly , and cloning went perfect , if any issues arise I will update this .

Needed more space in my computer, this nvme SSD works great and had fast loading files abd booting the laptop.

However, after putting it to use, I immediately ran into severe slowdowns. Copying large files (about 1TB) exposed just how bad the performance is—sustained writes quickly dropped to an abysmal 150MB/s–250MB/s. Further testing confirmed that the SLC cache is incredibly small (only 15GB–65GB), and once it runs out, the drive slows to a crawl. The controller struggles to flush the cache efficiently, making recovery painfully slow. Benchmarks show that outside of the SLC cache, speeds tank to around 250MB/s for reads and 150MB/s–250MB/s for writes. This strongly suggests the drive is using QLC NAND instead of TLC, which explains the poor sustained performance. The UD90 is a nice drive, but know this...it's a slow drive. I bench tested it against my Samsung 980 Pro and here are the results. Samsung 980 Pro Read 6966 MB/s : Silicon Power UD90 Read 3735 MB/s. Samsung 980 Pro Write 5178 MB/s : Silicon Power UD90 Write 3331 MB/s. I don't know if this is deal breaker for you or not, but if I were you...and had the money, I'd choose a faster drive for my boot drive...and if you can afford it, do the same for your other drives as you add them. There are other drives at around the same price as the UD90 that deliver similar read/write speeds as the Samsung 980 Pro. The Klevv Cras C930 is one of them. All in all, it depends on what you're using your drives for. In some cases, the UD90 is a perfect fit. I'm happy with mine as a secondary drive. And, when I purchased it, it was $94.00 US. I was actually surprised by the difference in stated and real world performance for my UD90. My Samsung 980 Pro actually came fairly close to its rated read/write speeds whereas my UD90, which was around 65% of it's stated max speeds...approximately and somewhat disappointing. J'ai acheté ce M.2 afin d'évoluer mon vieil ordinateur qui accepte ce type de M.2. Avant j'avais un vieux SSD Samsung 840 512 GB. Il commençait à avoir des bad sector. Il avait presque 10 ans. Sa retraite arrivait... Ce M.2 travaille bien. Il tient ses promesses pour la vitesse de lecture et d'écriture. Je constate une différence notable de vitesse avec l'ancien SSD Samsung. J'ai installé dessus Windows et jeux que je joue régulièrement. Il chauffe peu même s'il est à moins de dix centimètre de la carte vidéo.

I ended up returning this drive, not because anything was wrong with it but because I decided I needed more storage and went for a 2TB version and a slightly different model instead. The 1TB unit arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I already use Silicon Power RAM and another of their SSDs, and they have all been reliable and well priced. Based on my experience with the brand, I have no hesitation recommending this drive.
