New BalanceWomen's Fresh Foam X Hierro V1 Mid-Cut Trail Running Shoe

Great shoes, wore them on our recent trip to Alaska. Perfect for normal walking, hiking on trails, and walks along the rocky beaches.

These were absolutely perfect in every way. Since my surgery, only 2E shoes and boots fit. I was worried that I’d never find nice hiking boots, but these were an excellent value. They’re in great shape and they were a little stiff, but they worked right in. I love them!

I'm a fan of New Balance Fresh Foam, and I own several pairs of fresh foam running shoes. I have neuropathy, and i need the softness where my feet meet the shoe. These shoes may have plenty of compression in the soles, I have to assume, but they are hard enough that the balls of my feet go numb when I wear them (I only wore them in the house). I don't know if this model is harder on the foot or if something is wrong with this particular pair of shoes. This makes me sad because the price was very reasonable, and I really like the look of them.

Update:Took these out on a hike at my local state park after a particularly wet week. There were lots of puddles, mud, and lots of places to slip.Tested water resistance when I sank into a muddy puddle. My foot got wet, but dried quickly. The traction was good when we had to cross large puddles on wobbly fallen branches.My feet stayed cool throughout the whole hike! I was impressed, even when it was pretty hot and humid out.Overall, these shoes are everything I needed them to be; cool, comfortable, cute, and supportive of my ankles and feet.————Original:I’ve been on quite the hunt for a shoe that offered good ankle support, that’s breathable for the summer, and something at least semi-cute. In the world of hiking, cute is not in the manufacturer’s vocabulary… at least nothing that is reasonably affordable. I’m pleased that these check all those boxes.I ordered these in a half size larger and in wide since I read several reviews about these being tight all over. The half size and width make these very comfortable and allow me to add thick socks for wetter and colder seasons! So plus!Bought these for an upcoming camping trip where there will be light hiking, but being pregnant, I need breathable shoes for the humid Texas heat. Haven’t had a chance to test them out yet, but will update me them after I get a chance to put them to the test.It’s worth noting that the rim of the ankles are stiff and does need to be broken in. Even with tall socks, they are rubbing.

Some how my initial review has been reviewed. So im writing another one. I am a New Balance enthusiasts and LOVE New Balance. This was in no way the quality they are known for. Everything about it screams not Original. Yes. I said it, knock offs.

I like the style of the shoe. True to size but the toe area is VERY narrow even in the wide option. Also, if you have high arches then where the tongue is sown it is a little bit uncomfortable. I’d never buy this shoe at full price. Wait until it’s on sale.

Wow! These are narrow! I like everything else about them,but am trading them out for extra wide. I have owned A LOT of New Balance shoes. These are the only ones that have been narrow.
