Great quality, value, and looks good. Has a multitude of pouches, compartments, and pen holders. Strap and handles are good quality and comfortable. Protection is good too for when you slam on the breaks and your laptop goes flying off your car seat - nothing broken so far. Would be nice if I didn’t have so much work to do that meant I needed a laptop in the first place………

This Taygeer case is specified for a 17” laptop. I’m actually using it for a 15.6” but added a custom sleeve with extra stiffening and some padding for both sides of the laptop and its edges to bring this Taygeer closer to the protective standard I’ve become used to in my previous cases (alas no longer available). Storage options are adequate, but the front pocket where I would expect to keep its slim power supply, the phone’s slim charger and assorted leads and plugs only has a Velcro closure. I’m not going to put these hard lumpy things in the same compartment as the laptop. I will carefully avoid testing it out in the rain, as it is clearly not going to keep the contents dry. This is all too obviously a laptop case, and thus an attractive target for the light fingered. I really do miss having the magnetically-attracted-to-each-other carry handles of all the previous cases, where one only ever felt a thicker single 'brief-case' handle when picking it up. The Velcro idea for the handles on this case simply doesn’t work. I rarely use the adjustable shoulder strap which attaches to a D-ring on each side of the laptop below the zip for the main compartment.

The "Taygeer Laptop Bag 17 inch, Large Business Water Resistant Briefcase for Man Women Protective Office Bag with Shoulder Strap Work Computer Bag for Laptop Notebook Travel School, Black" has twin carry handles with an unusual arrangement for its carry handles - one folds over on itself and is then secured to its partner by hook-and-loop pads - plus a detachable shoulder strap that connects via caribiners. On the downside, it is not the best case for laptops with 17.3 inches or slightly larger screens and especially those with wider bezels as there will then be fit issues! In addition to the main compartment, there are two smaller, almost half-width front compartments plus a full-width one behind that share a single flap. There is also a 3/4-size zipped pocket to the rear that could hold a wallet, travel tickets etc. The main compartment is divided, one portion for the laptop with a security flap and the other for documents, larger accessories etc or even a tablet. Padding is minimal and the divider between the two sections is very flexible and inserting the intended laptop, which has a 17.6-inch screen, was a very difficult fit as it tended to be trapped by the divider folding under it and probably best attempted when flat on a desk etc. Good or bad, there is absolutely no wriggle room. In terms of height, the same laptop was almost stretching the zip to its limits. The larger front pocket is part-organiser with some pen slots and pockets for a calculator, smartphone or peripherals such as a mouse. The smaller pockets could be used for a PSU and power lead, accessory cables etc and there are two more pen slots separating them. Due to the depth of the case, it is solely limited to current slim-line laptops but it may accept slightly deeper models of an earlier vintage. It isn't ultra-heavy when empty but its final weight will depend on its contents, mostly the laptop and PSU etc. There is also a smaller version for 15.6 inch laptops whose features are essentially similar. Due to its sizing and capacity issues, it was immediately returned. A slightly larger case for up to 18-inch models was ordered as a replacement; one of a similar size but from an established brand was previously used but the plastic 'rivets' holding the carry handle to the case had detached over time and it was therefore junked.
