Don't have to pump the gas on my old truck anymore
I was a bit tired of pumping the gas pedal every time I had to start my old 77 Ford. If it sat long enough, I'd sometimes have to go open the hood and dump some gas in the carb to get it to start. This plus a fuel pressure regulator means I just turn the key, wait a second and then start the truck. It's working great for now. Will it still be working in a year? Well, we'll see. I put it in on 1/15/2023. I'll be back here complaining if it dies. So, if it's sometime in the distant future, and I haven't updated this, it's either working or I dropped dead. Or maybe the truck died. The last one is unlikely, considering it's a 1977. I can replace whatever breaks on it. Well, unless someone smashes into it.

Pump did not ‘pump’
Would not pump (gas) fuel from a tank located 2 feet away…. new fuel hose, verified fuel line to tank / into tank was ‘no leaks’.

Good, compact fuel pump
I bought this an emergency fuel pump in the event of an extended power outage. I wanted to be able to pump fuel out of my power boat, into a fuel can that can be moved to a portable generator. For a test, I moved about 20 oz of light oil from one container to another. Was quite quick and didn't make too much noise. I only had about 1 foot of lift in my setup, but this worked well and self primed with no issues. Current draw was minimal at 12v. Less than an amp of current was needed on average. I did note the there were some larger current spikes, so a power supply that only provides 1A before limiting would not be a good setup. But, as these are designed to run off of a 12V battery, this should not be a problem. There was a moderate amount of oil in the unit when shipped. If having some oil get into your pumped fluid is an issue, rinsing first might be a good idea.

It pumps gas...
Really the only valuable info one wants on generic carb fuel pump is first that it works out of box. It does. Second, how long it will last. No idea since I have to write this review in timely manner for VINE, cant try it out long term. Even the cheapest ones tend to last at least a short time. So cant say. If its still working 3 to 5 year down the road, then it deserves its "heavy duty" claim. But since I only received it recently no idea. Unfortunately nobody seriously makes long lasting parts for older carb applications. Or its very hit or miss, hopefully this will be the exception. I can say you never want to run electric pumps dry for lengthy period, lack of lube/cooling from fuel flow will kill them in relatively short order. And they push fuel better than pull it. So mounting on frame of vehicle near the tank is usually recommended.

Perfect for replacing a manual fuel pump on my boat
I have a older boat that I am restoring and the manual pump decided to quite. With the age being what it is, finding one was a nightmare. I remember replacing the manual pump on my old cars with a pump like this so I figured I would give it a shot. This works perfectly for me. I added this in line and added a relay to power it with. I was able to start the motor right away now, without having to wait for the manual pump to build up a little pressure. Overall saving my battery and my stress level. This should work on most older style vehicles that use a carburetor. If I can ever find a manual pump then I may swap this out, but for now it works great for my needs.
