While I really don’t know a lot about Butterfly Pea Powder other than having it once in a restaurant beverage concoction, I decided to purchase this for use in my homemade ice cream. As you can see, it gave it a great color that my guests raved about. I basically added some to my vanilla ice cream recipe and while the flavor of this ingredient is very slight, it gave it a little tea-like bitterness that was a nice balance to the sweet vanilla flavor.

This has been a great addition to my daily smoothies ! It tastes wonderful and I love the bright purple color it adds. This is my second purchase from this brand and I absolutely love both mixes I bought so far. I can’t wait to try the other flavors !

I used to color icing for cupcakes. It’s hard to rate the product itself because it’s not specifically for the coloration of icing…. But it tasted so bad that I had to say something for those considering it for baking. There’s not enough sugar or vanilla in the world to cover this flavor. I only used a little powder to achieve the color I wanted (very light blue) and I was horrified when I tasted the final product. This is the first batch of baked goods I’ve ever had to throw away since the first time I made cookies as a little kid.

For a May the 4th Be With You party... it was great w/o using food coloring.
