Fantastic Looking Cooling Pad for the price
Fantastic Looking Cooling Pad for the price. This is the first ever cooling pad that I had purchased for my Alienware 15 R4 (2018) laptop. Anyone who owns an Alienware laptop will know they tend run on the hotter side. I keep the fan on the high mode which is still very quiet, so quiet I worry it stopped working. Being that this is my first laptop cooling fan ever, I am wondering if its strength is too low when its running. I have nothing to compare it too, so it could be working just fine. it blows air, just mild which could be normal for what these products do. I do have it turned up all the way as well. Its cut down my temps from 55-65 c at idle to 45-55 c. I also love that its the only laptop fan that I seen that comes with a power adapter option to plug in (you have to supply your own plug). I bought a universal adapter by SoulBay ( 30W Universal AC/DC Adapter Switching Power Supply with 8 Selectable Adapter Tips & Micro USB Plug, for 3V to 12V Household Electronics and LED Strip - 2000mA Max) (seen here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7RS0NG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) that works wonderfully for it if you do not want to keep it plugged into your USB port on laptop. If anyone is curious, yes I use it on my lap, yes I use it on my bed, Yes it holds my tank of a laptop that's heavier than most laptops without even flinching (alienware 15 R4 is 8 pounds of heavenly joy) I am confident it will handle its 10 pound brother the 17 R4 or more. This cooler fan is built like a tank, to hold a tank. No slipping or sliding of my hearty beast of a system. yes its amazing and absolutely worth the price. I would recommend to anyone who wants the freedom of an optional power supply without having to feel tethered to your laptop. This model gives you the freedom of picking up your laptop to walk away with it if you use your own power adapter. I would give it 10 stars if it came with its own adapter. The RGB lighting can be turned off so your not stuck with it on. This to me is another bonus. I have it on when I want flashy eye candy, and shut off the lights with the button in the back that will not effect the fans speed at all. You can even control the colors with the buttons as well as the lighting effects. Over all I love this product! Thank you for making such a great piece of equipment. This fan is great for gaming or high intensity graphic users when designing your projects. Its generous size fully covers my laptop and could easily hold bigger. Its solid full black design of metal top/plastic bottom is great for those who want their laptops to shine against its dark surface. Even better for when your using the RGB features. I recommend this product to anyone who wants the options of the most versatility of a cooling pad with something that feels that its its going to last for a very long time to come.

Keeping Cool with the Thermaltake Laptop Fan: A Gamer's Delight
As someone who spends considerable hours on my laptop, either gaming or handling resource-intensive tasks, finding a reliable cooling solution has always been paramount. The Thermaltake Laptop Fan has proven to be an excellent choice, seamlessly blending functionality with innovative design. Firstly, the build quality of this fan is impressive. Thermaltake has consistently delivered on durability, and this laptop fan is no exception. It’s robust and feels sturdy, which reassures me of its longevity. The design is sleek and modern, ensuring it doesn't look out of place in a gaming setup or a professional environment. Performance-wise, the Thermaltake Laptop Fan excels. It features adjustable fan speed settings that allow for customized cooling based on the intensity of the laptop’s usage. This is particularly beneficial during long gaming sessions or while running heavy software, as it effectively disperses heat, maintaining an optimal operating temperature for the laptop.

Stopped my 15-inch laptop from melting
Whoa! I was not expecting this to be such a monster! It is BIG. In all fairness, it does say "massive" in the title. My 15-inch laptop sits in the middle of this board with an inch to spare on all four sides. But the best part? It's quiet - very quiet. Easily 75-percent quieter than my cheap board that died. It has one big fan in the middle that just... well.. purrs. I could do without the LED light show. Yeah, it's cool for about 5 minutes, but then you want to get to work, and then all those lights and light settings become a distraction. My only complaint is moving it. If you push this board anywhere on your desk, the little stubby legs give up - every time - face plant. The solution? Don't move it! Otherwise, it sits at a good height for typing, I can feel the fan blowing, and my laptop has not overheated once since I bought it. It does feel like cheap plastic coming out of the box, but "it just works." If you're looking for a cooling board that doesn't suck (so far), this one has been an unexpected surprise. Good choice for 15-inch laptop people who use a second monitor and just want their laptop to stop overheating. 🤠☕🔱

Its nice but mods put it over the top
In my circles its always IETS GT500 vs this with the IETS coming out on top. I assume this is mostly due to the foam padding that prevents air from just blowing around the case. So, I purchased some foam insulation to replicate the sealing effect from the IETS. That worked out very well. Now I have a very quiet but high flow setup, but... does it cool? Yep. Using an AW M18 R1 as the test and XTU to monitor, the effect on both the CPU and GPU are profound. On balanced mode the GPU never goes above 66C at 100% utilization. The CPU at 100% (all cores in) can hits between 4-4.5Ghz. This is around 500Mhz faster than without the cooler. With only 2 p-cores involved (game scenario) it runs even faster. Bounces around between 4.7-5Ghz (about the same increase as the all core test). I feel the better cooling is likely due to the internal fans having to fight against the case to pull in enough air and with the cooler involved, there is a pressure surplus inside the case from which to draw from. Just my guess. Its light and runs on USB (has two but only needs one from my computer). All in all I'm happy with my purchase.

It's Big and Expensive
First I'm go start with the positive, and that is the size, of all the laptop cooling pads I've tried this is the one only one that fully supports a 17 inch laptop with room to spare. My Alienware 17 R5 fully fits with about half an inch left over on each side. +1 star for the size. Now for the problems. First is the price, at $59.99 this is a total rip-off, I got mine when it was on sale for $39.99 and even then it feels overpriced. Honestly for what it does $30-40 should be the absolute most it should cost. +/- 0 here as long as it's priced $39.99 Next is the cooling, at full power it's nothing special, My older Alienware 17 R5 has an i9 and gtx 1080 and runs like an oven, anything helps, but the cooling pad fan just doesn't have the power to justify it's price. -1 star for the fan power. Third is the terrible USB design. This requires 2 USB ports, and only works as intended if your laptop has 2 USB ports on the side or if you use a USB hub. It will run with only one USB plug, but the fan seems to be throttled. Unfortunately mine does not have enough USB ports to run this with both plugged in. I even tried using a USB C to A adapter cable from the rear, but the cord that came with it is nowhere near long enough to bridge the distance between the side and rear ports which I included in the pictures. -1 star for USB cable design. *Update, Finally there is the RGB. It's actually pretty decent, there are 5 settings, rainbow, morph, strobe fast, strobe slow, and solid color. I'm adding one star back to this because I learned you can pause the color with the left rear button on the morph setting to pick what color you want it to stay as, if it's missing from the solid color selection. +1 star Overall it's a big cooling pad made out of mostly plastic. The legs feel flimsy, and on the second height setting seem like they could easily be broken off. Cooling is average at best, I would only recommend this in 2 cases, first is only if you have a 17 or 18 inch laptop, and second that is on sale for $39.99 or less.

This thing takes 2 USB ports to power
Without anything in the product listing to indicate it, when unboxing the product the power cable has a DC Jack on one end, and two USB on the other. My laptop has two ports. One for the mouse dongle and one for the extra video output. To use this pad I won’t be able to use my laptop in the manner to which I’m accustomed. Plus, being that the USB ports are on opposite sides of my laptop and this cord is so incredibly short, it’s just not going to work unless I power it from some other source. Frustrating that this information wasn’t included in the listing. Had to revise this and take it down to a one. Got it home and hooked it up. Would not attach to my laptop due to the design of the cord. When I did get attached to a different usb power source (x2) it makes a horrible knocking sound unless it’s at a 30 degree or more angle. Laying relatively flat it makes constant racket. Poor quality.

This is a BEAST!
I LOVE this! It WILL occupy some desk resl estate. But my laptop runs noticeably cooler and my laptop fan doesnkick in. This pleases me. This is pretty quiet for what it is. Let's be real; it's a giant fan. Expect it to sound like a fan. But I really don't notice it. Works great. Does the job. Hopefully adds to my laptop life span. Relatively quiet. Made of good sturdy materials. Has adjustable height rear legs. What's not yo like?
