The memoir The Half Of It by Madison Beer shows behind the scenes what it's like to be a public figure. I feel that this is very important because we are often only shown the glamorized side of Hollywood and the music industry. Madison tackles tough topics such as suicide, drug addiction, and self-harm. She describes what it's like navigating therapy and getting professional help while being famous. She mentions what it's like to deal with Borderline Personality disorder. Something I enjoyed about this memoir was how open she was when talking about her struggles and what happened to her in her past. The singer mentions having her private nudes leaked at fifteen and what it was like having to deal with the hate. Something different that I found enjoyable in this book was the journal prompts and the letters from fans. I think that most teens or young adults who struggle with mental health would find this book very relatable and enjoyable to read even if it tackles hard topics.

Honestly, I’m probably Madison Beer’s biggest fan. Like, I’ve been following her for years, and watching her grow from a YouTube cover singer to a huge star has been amazing. When I read Half of It, it felt so personal — like Madison’s story was shining through every page. The book really shows her struggles and triumphs with fame in such a real way. I loved how honest and raw the story is. It doesn’t just glamorize being famous; it talks about the real pressures and emotions behind the spotlight. As someone who admires Madison, reading this made me feel even closer to her, like I understand what she’s been through. Her passion, her ups and downs, and her determination all come through, and it’s so inspiring. I honestly couldn’t put the book down. If you’re a fan of Madison, or just someone who loves a good story about chasing dreams and dealing with fame, you’ve got to read Half of It.
