Absolutely love this camera — my streaming setup just leveled up!
This camera exceeded all my expectations — crisp, clear video quality and smooth performance make it perfect for everything from streaming to video calls. Setup was super simple; I plugged it in and it just worked. The design looks sleek on my desk and it stays steady even when I’m moving around a bit. Love how it allows me to focus on the content without worrying about video glitches. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality camera that doesn’t complicate things, this one’s it.

Fantastic quality for a great price
When this came back in stock for about $100, I grabbed it immediately. I haven’t bought a Razer product before, but I had heard good things about the brand. First off, the picture quality is absolutely amazing. It is by far the best quality I’ve ever had from any webcam. This looks like “streamer” quality video even at low light. I haven’t really needed the ring light as much as I thought it would, because every other webcam needed more light where I was sitting. So, low light performance is really good out of the box! Adjusting the light is very intuitive, turning the dial brightens and darkens it. I do wish I could go to just a little bit lower level of light on its lowest setting, even after using the software to change it as low as possible. The viewing angle is also great and you can make a lot of adjustments with the stand. It fits perfectly on my oddly shaped monitor. The auto focus is very quick and performs better than others I’ve used. The driver software has a lot of extra options for tweaking the image, but overall the program seems bloated as I’m sure it’s intended for people who are already in the Razer ecosystem. If you’re just using the webcam, it feels a bit excessive, and it makes it less of a plug-and-play solution as it recommends you reboot after the installation. I wish there was a lighter driver installation for just being a webcam. Windows 10 did get the drivers straight off the internet without me having to find them on their website or pop in a CD. Everything compatibility wise is there, you can use Zoom or OBS without a problem. One great thing about this is that it includes a microphone, and it works well. Unfortunately there’s no switch to turn it off. There’s also no privacy cover for the camera either. You’ll just have to unplug it to turn it completely off. But, it is easy to push it towards the ceiling when you’re done. The build quality of the camera itself also feels great. It doesn’t feel fragile or cheap at all. The position adjustments hold into place really well and don’t sink into a direction you don’t want. Really, if you think about it, a high quality web cam sensor, a ring light, and a microphone built-in all for $100 is a great deal. If you need a webcam, I would recommend this over anything else I’ve seen on the market in 2020, especially at this price point.

Good camera, not the same level as the pricier PRO version.
It's a webcam, so installation is straight forward, plug it in, that's it, install the software from the website if you need it for advance controls and option, Zoom for this camera is okay but you lose quite a bit of quality when zooming in, it also struggle with low and dark light conditions but in daylight the quality of the image it produces is amazing. I honestly can't say much about it's Microphone as I just don't use it and as for value, I can't remember how much I paid, I have it for a while now.

Excellent Webcam at a Great Price!
I ordered the Razer Kiyo X as a replacement to my Microsoft Lifecam Studio I've been using since February 2020. The Lifecam developed a short in the cable in November 2023 so I did a little research and came across the Razer via a Wired Magazine article. I was impressed with the specs and the price of $49 (when I purchased) and decided to order it. I was disappointed when I first plugged it in because it had rolling artifacts across the video. I went to the Razer website to contact Razer Support and it guided me to a list of suggestions. It recommended not plugging it into a hub or peripheral so I plugged it directly into the PC and the issue was resolved. The Great: The color and white balance are fantastic. For the last year, while using the Lifecam in my new office, the accent wall behind me really messed with the brightness levels in videos to the point where I always seemed to look like Casper the friendly ghost. I was able to overcome the issue by changing the angle of the camera to have less dark blue accent wall behind me but it was nevertheless frustrating. Upon plugging in the Razer Kiyo X, the issues are resolved and the video image is perfectly balanced even with the window open in front of me directly behind my computer and webcam. The Sad (not necessarily related to Razer): Due to firewalls related to enterprise software restrictions, I'm unable to access any of the Razer software to adjust the settings. So whatever the default quality Razer sets for Zoom is what I'm stuck with. I'm not convinced that's 1080p but I'm hopeful. It seems comparable to what the Lifecam offered. Overall, it's a fantastic camera and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Died in Less Than a Year - Unacceptable Lifespan
I purchased this Razer Kiyo webcam in November 2024 and for about 10 months, it worked as expected. The video quality was decent and the ring light was a nice feature. However, the reliability is completely unacceptable. Last week, while I was in the middle of recording a video, the webcam started flickering uncontrollably and then died completely. It is now totally unresponsive and will not turn on, no matter what I try. For a product from a major brand like Razer to fail in under a year from what appears to be a hardware short circuit is incredibly disappointing. A webcam should be a reliable piece of equipment that lasts for several years, not something that suddenly dies and ruins a project. While it worked, it was fine. But I cannot recommend a product with such a short and unpredictable lifespan. Potential buyers should be aware of these serious reliability issues before purchasing. I would advise looking elsewhere for a more durable and dependable webcam.

It took me a while to decide between this webcam and one of the Logitech competitors, but in the end I'm very happy with my choice. The grip is very flexible, allowing you to set up flat on a surface, or to the top of just about any monitor, regardless of thickness (excluding CRTs). I downloaded the drivers from the Razer website and have had no compatibility issues. It takes minimal set-up to figure out the right colour levels, and it perfectly remembers those settings. I would recommend using an external light however, as the built-in ring light isn't very flattering. It does help in a dark room, but arguably that's irrelevant to most people.

I recently purchased this webcam and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The picture quality is exceptionally good, making it perfect for work meetings where clarity is crucial. The sharp focus ensures that every detail is captured, which is particularly beneficial when presenting documents or engaging in video calls with colleagues. Additionally, the brightness settings are impressive, allowing the camera to perform well even in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Considering the brand’s reputation, the price is quite reasonable, offering great value for the quality provided. Overall, this webcam has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and high-quality webcam for professional use.
