I use this stick for measuring high jump bar height. It is much better than a tape. The pieces move in a and out firmly but smoothly. This is a best recent purchase for me. The quality is great and it is very lightweight.

what i hoped for

I bought this for occasional use. It is very sturdy and securly locking in place when extended. The end are reenforce with steel plating to protect the aluminum body. The numbers are highly visible. I wouldn't consider this construction grade, but with care will last a lifetime.
