To make it short-buy it now because it is the best option available....
Now First the positives then the negatives or thing's I'd add or change, First this is amazing for camping, especially for watching some horror movies out in the dark wood's, it's almost perfect and 1 of the only one's I've seen that you can take with you on a camping trip an still be able to power it without needing an expensive battrey bank that has AC outlets, or a car outlet to charge, witch most portable dvd player's need, so crazy they haven't switched over to usb charging yet, anyway yes you can power this with batteries, 8 semi expensive D cell battries, but at least while out in the wild or anywhere else you can watch something at night before sleep or whenever- or listen to music, It plays dvds easily an it has Bluetooth and the ability to watch Amazon fire stick or one of the other one's like roku, on a 2 day trip 1 set of 8 batteries lasted the whole time no problem, used energizer, The sound quality is awesome, can be loud especially in the woods at night, at one point I swore I heard the tent zipper being opened, but it was coming from a movie playing in the background, but the sound is definitely quality an seems to have good surround sound, The screen Quality is decent for something this size, not fuzzy or dull, the color's are very nice, an you can watch it from a ways back an still see thing's just fine, There is full control of the box on the box & It comes with a controller that can seem confusing at first, but just look at it and you will easily see what each button is for, the button layout just feels a bit different from most controller's now a day's, so some buttons that you are use to doing something like changing the volume might do something else, while the volume button is placed elsewhere on the remote, not really a bad thing, just different, The quality of the box overall feels great an just the fact you can take this anywhere an watch movies or stream stuff or listen to music as long as you have a ac outlet or even cooler & main selling point for me- batteries- is amazingly cool, Plus it works weather you have cell reception or not, that is one of the coolest part's, especially in today's world where everything is digital an you own less & less, but there is a few things I'd add or change to make it better, -It doesn't have a carrying case, maybe there is something out there that can be found that would fit it, but it would be cool if they offered a hardshell case maybe shock resistant that could keep it protected at a decent fair price, maybe even color match or have cool designs on them, that way you could protect an keep your awesome dvd boombox in good working shape, -Maybe add optional-sturdy adjustable legs, so you could raise it up an maybe angle it different ways, so that way you could place it anywhere an watch it from any angle, -Maybe add a blu-ray player to it, So that way you could watch even more types of movies besides just dvds, even tho watching dvds is awesome, -heck maybe even add the ability to stream or better yet, download games an let controller's connect to it, how awesome would that be, maybe that is asking for a bit much, still it would be cool, -Maybe Add more ways to charge/power it, mainly add the ability to power-charge it through USB, just in case you ran out of batteries maybe it could still be powered with a battery bank that doesn't cost a few hundred or thousand dollars, so maybe it could have a rechargeable battery that could be removed for the 8 d cell batteries, once the rechargeable one runs out of juice, -Just a side thing-but maybe add a way for the controller to be placed onto the boombox, it could clip on or something like that, but in a way where it wouldn't just be hanging out there, Or if a case is made, maybe add a holder for the remote, an any other accessories that come with it, -Screen mirroring from say your phone could be really cool, I see you can share audio from a Bluetooth device, and use usb sticks, but didn't test to see if the whole screen mirroring from a android would work, if not, it could be a really cool thing added to another future version, But if not it does have the reg plug ups in the back, that could allow for a separate cable that would go from the phone, to the box, and provide the audio/display/ So that might be a work around if that was of interest, and it definitely would be for me, cause I often find myself watching YouTube, But all in all this is an amazing little gadget, definitely a must for camping, or traveling, or just to have for a just in case kind of deal, it is definitely worth it, If they add changes or make a new version seeing some of those idea's added would definitely make the boombox dvd player better, an I'd definitely pick it up, heck I got a mind to get another one for a just in case back up, cause with the way thing's are getting it might definitely come in handy.

With 3 stickers to remedy issues this is a good machine
Smooth sound in that there isn’t anything overwhelming the sound of the show such as a rattle or whine from the mechanics. Dislike that a louder voice than my set volume exclaims “DVD” when machine is first turned on. What good purpose is there in this? Picture is clear and yes it is small but it is of good quality. The box structure helps because even on a soft surface, the picture is great. Dislike the bright red power on light has been placed center view at the top of the viewing screen. Why would they do that? Need to place a black sticker cover over that so it doesn’t get in the way of your view of the movie, in my opinion. Also for the older crowd, there is another visual issue. To operate the buttons, such as to shut your movie off in the middle of the night, you are going to need to look directly into the picture screen because the buttons are placed, and are labeled facing you directly above the picture screen. Biology dictates that the older we are our eyes do not adjust as quickly to light changes and so some people are gonna need a flashlight beside them to try to find never mind read the play, stop, etcetera buttons. The older crowd will not be able to see the control panel easily, in my opinion, when the movie screen is on. into the picture screen. My remedy here? A red sticker on the stop button and a green sticker on the play button. Having said all of this, I like this product and find the overall quality is above the rest. I may even buy another one. Simple low cost helpers - 3 stickers - make this easy to use. I think it’s overall worth it as the sound quality is good and the movie picture quality is good, and the entire thing is easily portable and stable. I like that you can plug this into your wall or use batteries. PS Yes there is a remote control. For me personally, this is a waste and of no help to me. I don’t want to have to find it and this thing is so small. Remotes always slip out and away from me, and I find them a bother when the machine is closer than the remote. Anyone else agree? Plus I would have to get my readers on to read the remote. All other features I cannot comment on as I just wanted this to sit on the bed beside me and not have the dog knock it over and be able to turn it on and shut it off easily. So hard to find the simplest things sometimes. I’ve bought several small machines that are flimsy and fall over and break or they technically work but make a whine and roar that is so loud you can’t hear the movie. None of that with this one. Hope this helps.

FULL REVIEW - How To Use USB And More
This product really has no manual at all, so you will want to read this review, because I'll explain exactly what it can and cannot do, and how to make it work. (Pictures Included) This boombox is more for video than for audio, so if you want something more for audio, then look for something else. If it is video you want, then you'll want this, because it can play video from DVD, USB, and HDMI. The DVD and HDMI are easy enough for you to figure out, but the USB port has everyone confused, because the product gives wrong information about what file types can be played. The Audio Folder says it can play mp3, wma, wav, and more, but in fact, it can only play mp3, and wav, only. The Picture Folder says it can play jpeg, bmp, and more, but in fact, it can only play jpg, only. The Video Folder says it can play mpeg2, mp4, avi, divx and more, but in fact, it can only play swf, and vob, only. So because of a manual that doesn't explain anything important, and how the product lied about what it can do, I cannot give this product 5 stars. I still gave it a high rating though, because vob video files are easy to make and they have DVD quality while also having the smallest memory. The vob files can be any length. They can be full length movies if you want. For a detailed list of what does and does not work with the USB port, see my attached pictures where I typed it up as a list. The bass button doesn't work, so don't expect that button to do anything. This does have an FM option, but the dial knob is too small for it to work like it should. See attached pictures for how the short USB extension cable looks. I highly suggest getting one of those cables so you don't have to worry about the carry handle breaking a USB stick. So how do you use this thing? Step One: Press the Power button on top. Step Two: Make sure volume is up and press the Source button (It will go through your options, Aux, FM, DVD) Step Three: Stop at DVD Step Four: Press the DVD button (It will go through your options, DVD, USB, HDMI) Step Five: Stop at USB Step Six: Use the remote control NOTE: You can turn the screen off and on by pressing the Screen button. If the screen doesn't come on by itself, then you may have to press that button to turn it on. Can you use headphones? Yes, with the correct connections, but also limited in use. There is no headphone-out on this, but there is a left and right RCA-out on the back. So you could get an RCA audio-out to headphone jack connection, then a headphone splitter cable (so you can use more than one headphone), then a volume control cable (for each headphone to have their own volume control), then a splitter cable for headphone and microphone (if using headphones that combine the audio with the microphone, so only the audio is connected). However, the headphones hooked up like this, will only play audio from the DVD, USB, and HDMI inputs. Also, volume dial must be all the way down because the speakers will still put out audio as normal. Is there a carry case? Yes, this product is 17 L x 10 W x 7 H (Inches), so use these measurements when looking for a carry case. See attached pictures for what I used. Video quality? Looks great for most video, in the light and in the dark, but if you try to watch a movie on this where the movie is mostly filmed in the dark, then it won't be that visible, even after messing with all the screen settings to adjust the picture. I think the reason for that is mostly because the screen size is so small. Audio quality? Sounds great. Bluetooth? Yes and No. You can play music on this, using Bluetooth, but you cannot listen to music from it with Bluetooth headphones. HDMI? This is HDMI in only, so it can be used as a computer monitor (in case of an emergency, like if you have no other option for a computer monitor). If you do have any video games that use an HDMI connection for a video screen, then you can use this as a screen for video games also. --- UPDATE: June 2025 I took this to a friends place to play some movies on it. I was able to place several movies onto a 32 GB USB Stick formatted for FAT32, as VOB file types. First, tried the built in small video screen. No matter what movie we played, the video quality was lacking, and we had a hard time making out the video. So after about 30 minutes or so, I got the idea to hook the boombox to a big screen TV, using the RCA cables it came with, and then we could see the video on the boombox and on the TV at the same time. Then it was very obvious that the TV showed all the video very clearly, while the boombox had some video where the images were too dark to be visible. Very quickly we decided it had to be hooked to a big screen TV to watch any video from it. Second, we tried the DVD player, after noticing that VOB files are majorly reduced in quality when compared to an actual DVD video. While VOB files do have DVD quality, they are much smaller, not just in file size, but in actual size. So when a VOB file is played on a TV, it will be in the center of the TV screen, rather than being the size of the TV screen. So whatever the size is of your TV screen, the VOB video will only be about half that size, playing in the center. We did try stretching the video to fit the TV, but that only pixelated the video so badly, it looked like movie video from an old Sega CD Video Game. I still love this for the USB video, and will still use it for USB video. Just know that the video size will be smaller when played on a TV, and to see it well on the small built in screen, it must be a very bright and well lit video.

Very good sound and a better than expected screen
This player exceeded expectations, especially for its sound. The DVD option is nice to have and will also play audio CDs. The screen quality is decent and bright enough for indoors. I haven't tried it outside yet. I also use it with a Roku stick for streaming Youtube and other content. It plugs into the HDMI port in the back and there is also a power port on the box that will power the stick. The bluetooth feature on the box is for streaming music from your phone to the box. The bluetooth feature does not support streaming video... just audio. It does take 8 D cell batteries, not 6 as claimed. The overall weight is OK. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Works for what I need!
This boombox is super handy and fun to use! I love that I can stream shows and movies using HDMI with my Roku. The little screen is clear and works great. It’s easy to carry around, and since it runs on either a power cord or batteries, I can use it indoors or outside. I actually used it during our road trip last weekend, and it was perfect for keeping everyone entertained at rest stops and in the cabin. Bluetooth works smoothly, so I can play music from my phone without any hassle. My favorite part is definitely the Bluetooth. It’s so easy to connect and control everything from my phone. The sound is solid for its size, and the remote makes it easy to operate. Overall, it’s a cool all-in-one entertainment box! Works for what I need.

Awesome, compact, solid media player.
This Cd/DVD player is awesome! The ultimate camping luxury item. I was really impressed with the picture quality and how bright the display is. It was a lot better than expected after reading some of the reviews. Sound quality is good. Streaming is so cool. Before I even used it each of my 4 boys still at home pulled it out of the closet to check it out. Now, they all argue about who gets to use it. It's compact size makes it easy to take along anywhere. If you use batteries it's great for winter power outtages. It has a nice design and appealing appearance. I'm really happy with this purchase. It was an excellent value for the price paid.
