Nice, Affordable Little Gift
I got this for my niece who wanted sea monkeys. It was easy for her to follow (age 7) and the monkeys appeared! They are pretty easy to look after, especially as she forgot about them at times. Great value too.

only two survived, then by the 3rd week a further 5 hatched
Getting everything you need in this pack makes it good value for money. On day 5 there were roughly 20 sea monkeys swimming around. I fed them on day 5 then, unfortunately, after day 7 only 2 sea monkeys survived. Right before week 3, I moved the tank to a warmer room and now I see 5 newly hatched sea monkeys. Very happy with this unexpected twist :)

All died in 6 days
Followed the instructions to a T. Sea monkeys hatched and we had loads. Fed them on day 5. All died within another 2 days. Waste of money.

Would recommend
This is a great product for any occasion. Took about 5-7 days for the eggs to hatch. Comes with plenty of food to keep you going for quite a while. If looked after correctly, they will start to reproduce eggs themselves and therefore create your own little civilisation. Instructions are set out well. Extremely easy to follow. Even states on there about their egg warranty in case the eggs don’t hatch. (Which is always a positive)

Amazing for kids
Bought this for kids as they keep asking for a pet and I don’t want to commit to anything before making sure they will be responsible. Didn’t succeed at the first time but in the second time we succeeded. Amazing how life is formed! Highly recommended.

Took a long time to hatch but worth the wait!
My little one has been asking for sea monkeys for ages so I got these as a birthday present. You have to follow the instructions to priory the water and wait a day til you put the eggs in. We waited a couple of weeks til they started hatching but there’s about 6 swimming around now. Nice easy pets, definitely worth buying if your kids ask for them!

Recieved in great condition. A month ago, I bought a mini tank of sea monkeys from Korea. By the end of 1st day, I've had many lots of sea monkey sighted without needing to do muh. Unfortunately due to my lack of knowledge (should have used bottled water instead of tap water) only 1 managed to survive. I transferred the surviving one into this new tank i bought (see my video). Thankfully it thrived in this new tank. I bought this sea monkey castle in original purple/blue instead of the clear crystal one hoping to see as many sea monkeys as I did with the Korean tank. Unfortunately, it is seemingly sparse. Nevertheless hope they survive well with less crowding then. I've bought special purple light to help grow some algae naturally as food for the shrimps and waiting to receive a mini air pump which will save me trouble of using manual pump.

I’ve had this tank set up for 4 days now and there are so many babies. I have added a mini aquarium heater and an airline for aeration. I have also placed it under a grow light to help encourage algae growth. If you don’t see babies it could be because the water is too cool. I have my heater set at 26 degrees Celsius and the airline set to very low aeration. My box is from 2024 and many babies have hatched. I still see some unhatched eggs from time to time in the tank. Conditions need to be right for these little guys so it’s hard to say if the other eggs will hatch in the future. I love the crystal tank you can see the sea monkeys swimming around a little better and I think it’s more aestheticly pleasing. I’m so happy to have sea monkeys again. It’s been 40 years. If you live somewhere and can’t have dog or cat or be bothered with a large aquarium this is a great alternative.

Dont be so quick to throw them away, they're there, you just cant see them. There are a few things you have to keep in mind to raise these. - They need warm temperatures, at least 70 degrees F, too chilly and they will not thrive and even die. - They need oxygen. Either use the little pump thing it came with to blow bubbles in the tank( google to find out how often), or if youre too lazy like me, get a pump with an air stone, and put on the lowest setting. Too much agitation will kill them. - They dont over eat, what kills them is suffocation. If the water is murky, thats too much food, and they will suffocate, especially if you're not blowing bubbles or dont have a bubbler with a pump. I usually feed them when water is clear. I thought mine died off, but then I saw 4 all of a sudden. They started having babies, now I have a ton of them. I just leave them be. I top off the water up to line, thats to keep the salinity level constant. Make sure pump is working and they get enough oxygen. I dont have them by a window, but I do use a grow light. They stay at 76-78 degrees, I keep them by the tv, that keeps them warm. I feed them about every other day, not too much. You have to play it by ear, and depends on how much critters you have in your tank. I got the Magic Castle on April 13, and it is now June 13. So far they are thriving. I got the Sea Monkeys on Mars June 5, so they're just starting to show up. Over all they are easy to take care of. No need for water changes. Don't remove the muck that accumulates at the bottom of their tank, they need that. The dead sea monkey are full of vitamins and minerals, that the live ones need. There's also eggs in there. Dont change the water either, you'll end up throwing away the babies that you can't see. I noticed that a lot of the low reviews were during the winter months. The reason why they either didnt hatch or died off was probably because they were cold. They need warmth, at least 76-80 degrees F. These arent toys, they are living beings with specific needs to live and thrive.

For those comments that were 1 star, those people did not wait long enough for them to hatch. It’s not going to be an overnight miracle, people. You have to wait at least a week or two for the eggs to hatch AND you have to make sure they get plenty of oxygen in the tank for them to grow.

I bought this product (and Sea Monkeys on Mars) to share a bit of fun nostalgia with my high school students. We read an article about fairy shrimp materializing at Burning Man and my students had no idea what sea monkeys were. As a millennial, I wanted to share the excitement of watching these little swimmers materialize from dust that I remembered from my own youth. I bought two sets and set them up with different classes. The sea monkeys hatched within a few days and for the first month or so, there were lots (maybe 15-20?). We could watch them swim around their habitat and even were able to observe them mating and carrying egg sacs (and pooping). My students were amazed. A year later and there are still 4-6 guys swimming around and reproducing. We used distilled water and the purification drops provided, fed them the growth food once a week (there is still half a bag left from the original kit), and aerated the water daily with the pipette provided. We didn’t buy a fancy filter and did not clean the container when debris started to settle at the bottom, though we did continue to add fresh distilled water as it evaporated. Great gift and tons of fun!
