Those who think they know what they are talking about, are annoying the one's that do!
I have been an amplifier enthusiast, and the birth of home cinema I also embraced from the early days right the way through to now. I don't pretend to be a "professional" like some of the 1 star haters. If they are indeed "professionals" then my God, standards have dropped. I will say it and get it out of the way. Take no notice of the 1 star reviews as they clearly know nothing. First consider the price. You would think by the way they go on about melting cables, insulation ripping whilst separating the wire or fitting plugs, yaba yaba yaba. There is nothing at all wrong with this speaker wire for the Home enthusiast. I will explain. Well, I've had 3 x 20m and every reel has been the full 20m everytime. I have used this on a 100wpc @ 8ohms Denon 7.2 system and that was driven hard as a cinema amp, and played for extended hours as a music amp loudly, I can do that as I live miles from other people, so no worry about complaints. I then upgraded to an even more powerful cinema amp, a Marantz Cinema 30 a £4000 140wpc 11.2 system, this too has been driven, just as the Denon, hard, and my wires haven't melted. With both of these amps I have kept the same speakers utilising 8ohms again, using old but excellent, Monitor Audio Silver Floorstanders, and Tannoy Large Box Satellites + 2 x 8" Powered Subwoofers, if it ain't broke, kinda thing. I did consider buying other speakers, but new speakers sound awful, and I didn't fancy breaking in for extended periods of time, maybe 100 to 200 hours of loudish sound, be it music or audio designed to speed the process up. I much prefer to buy far better quality speakers secondhand. Not only have they been already run in, but for the same money as a pair of brand new, mediocre speakers, think KEF or Mission. You can buy a really good pair of speakers for the same price costing many thousands when new. Thats a good tip for you genuine potential users. If you have reasonable quality speakers. Don't consider changing them unless there is a vast mismatch between a new amp output, and speaker handling. Run in speakers always have a warm soul about them, so don't chuck them., or if you can't use them, sell them on Ebay to offset the cost of a much better pair of speakers from the same outlet. I don't understand the haters out there, the ones giving it 1 *. These so called "professionals" are clearly not, if they can't strip wire without it tearing. For the price, the quality is very good. I would say, it's ideal for runs of up to, 40ft, and will easily handle I guess 180wpc @ 8ohm, you certainly wouldn't want to use this gauge on any larger run as the sound may start to suffer, any longer get the next thickest cable, 14AWG or if money isn'tan issue and you like to approach jobs, belt and braces, go one more to 12AWG, for any regular or larger house, this will more than suffice, just ensure it's solid copper wire NOT coated aluminium. Anything over this for the average enthusiast is overkill and a waste of money. You can get anal, and spend stupid money on thicker cable, but in all honesty, once you get beyond 14 or 12AWG, there is no point in going any thicker for the average home or cinema room. That is unless you have ridiculously long runs of over 100ft. I'm of the belief that the average enthusiast buying anything thicker than 10AWG if you have long runs. Anything more is the audio worlds equivalent of measuring d+cos, by people with little knowledge and more money than sense! The only stipulation I would say is worth bearing in mind, is the use of OFC (Oxygen free copper wire). If you are having trouble thinking i'ts better to buy 12AWG Aluminium Copper Coated Wire or 16AWG OFC Wire, always choose OFC, even though the aluminium copper coated wire is thicker, it's far more inferior than the not so thick OFC every time. Stripping wire and parting cables has never been an issue for me, not once. Forget these so called 1* "Professionals", if they are having the problems any of them are saying they are having then they are doing something wrong, very wrong. For the Home Cinema enthusiasts such as I, this wire is very good value for money and does its job very well. I have experienced 0 problems, I really don't know what planet they're on? Give it a go. If it's short then send it back, if it strips tearing the insulation, go back to school and hone your wire stripping skills, oh, and with the money saved on not over spending on needless thicker wires, buy a decent pair of strippers. The spend will be worth it, you will only need to buy them once! I highly recommend this wire. You're certainly getting the most bang for your buck There is a saying I recall. I may not get every word verbatim, but it goes something like; Those who think they know what they are talking about, are annoying the one's that do! Very apt, when looking at the rubbish the "professional" haters are leaving.

Great quality copper cable, highly recommend
Really good quality copper cable. I bought the 4mm x 10m long for under 25 pounds, which is superb value. Always used a quality interconnect and the is a good few out there that don’t match their price tags. I had previously used a silver cable which sounded a tad bright with Audiolab amp and Fyne audio floor standers. There is a real change to the depth now which I heard as soon as they were changed. Fitted these with the Nakamichi fan type banana plugs, which work really well together, nice and secure as well and super easy to trim to fit together Nice heavy cable, which is flexible enough so that it doesn’t curl on floor, lies nice and flat. Easy to identify red/black. I will be buying more for the other setups and think this is a great option. 10/10

Clean, thick, and signal-safe—solid cable for home audio, van setups, or site sound systems.
This cable’s built for clarity—oxygen-free copper (OFC) gives clean signal flow with minimal loss. 2.5mm² thickness handles power well, ideal for full-range speakers or longer runs without drop-off. Transparent sheath looks tidy and lets you see the copper—adds a pro touch to installs. Polarity markings are clear—no guesswork when wiring up. Flexible enough to route through tight spaces, but tough enough not to kink or split. Great for home audio, van sound systems, or site setups where you want reliable wiring that won’t need replacing. Perfect for anyone who wants solid audio cable without faff or signal compromise. Minor gripe: no spool—comes coiled, so prep takes a minute. 👍 Pros ✅ OFC copper—clean signal, low resistance ✅ 2.5mm² thickness—handles power, long runs ✅ Clear polarity markings—easy install ✅ Flexible sheath—routes easily, no kinks ✅ 50m length—plenty for full setups 👎 Cons ❌ No spool—manual uncoiling needed ❌ Not pre-cut—measure and trim yourself ❌ Transparent sheath—may show dust over time

Good cable at a decent price
Having spent a fortune on cabling before, burying it in the walls and under the floors, this time I wasn’t going to spend as much. Bought this and again secreted it under floors and such to keep things tidy. I really cant tell the difference between this and previous much more expensive cables. Maybe it is all a scam and there is little difference, well unless you use the doorbell type cable and that really is a bit pish. The only other factor to take into account of little or no difference is the old fart’s hearing, with age it goes downhill, along with mental process, eyesight, sporting prowess, bedroom antics, patience with the younger generation, though we do excel at one thing – being grumpy. So I may not be able to discern any real difference but it could be the aged ears, the moral being that as you age your Hi-Fi equipment can be cheaper as you will never tell the difference and hammering out 70s and 80s was never about the fidelity, more the volume. Worth getting this for over 50s, if younger and you like to brag about your setup, go spend a fortune on something that sounds no different but gives you massive bragging rights

Quality Speaker Wire
This is by far the best speaker wire that I’ve dealt with & I was born a chronic music listener so I go through systems extremely fast despite my care for them, now sometimes I keep the speakers from a bust system to add to the new system because those speakers were so good so I’ve got speakers all over meaning speaker wire all over, or rather I used to have, basically I’ve used a lot of speaker wire & this is the best that I’ve used. It’s thick, it’s quality copper filled wiring, you get a good length of it (I think I got 10m) it’s easy to slip into Banana Plugs a little trickier to get it straight into a system because if it thicknesses but it’s doable it’s just little tricky. You will need cable strippers/cutters for a precise great job with this wire & a Stanley knife to carefully slice through the rather tough middle to separate the two ends for spacious connecting areas. I get a great sound using this wire & certain Banana Plugs & Speakers.

Decent Performance and Excellent value for money
1 bought 50 metres of 4mm2 OFC speaker cable to bi-wire my two rear surround speakers. Up to now they been using single-wired micro QED cable, which is about 1mm2, and meant that my Audio Pro Black Pearl v2 speakers weren't sounding as good as when demoed in the shop. I needed about 12 metres of run from the amplifier, and you're best off using the thickest cable you can get, hence 4mm2. Bi-wiring these might then be OTT, but better to over-do it. Measuring 50m of cable into quarters was an exercise in itself. I had to uncoil the cable and spread it out along the length of the house, and then some, so I was sure I had 4 equal lengths before cutting. I put a dab of silver solder on the cable ends to stop the strands from splaying, and connected the cable to Nakamichi banana plugs at the speaker end, joining 4 cables to 2 banana plugs at the amplifier end. One of each pair of cables is clearly-marked with a red stripe. I then used red heat-shrink wrap at the ends for that side, and the red plugs. I then used white heat-shrink wrap for the other pair of cables on one lead, and black for the other so that when you plug them in you know which cable is which. I did slip up slightly in that one should conventionally have the signal go in the direction of the writing on the wires. Once I cut the first pair though I just wired them up as they were, meaning one pair of wires was the wrong way round. After wiring it all up, and having put a dab of solder on the amp ends connecting them together I decided to leave it. I did reverse one of the second pair to correct the direction. Once run-in I don`t expect any issues. The sound of the new cables is much fuller than they were, definitely more bass is arriving at the speakers and they now sound like they did in the shop. The price of the these cables was around 20% of the cost of the speakers. Possibly the 2.5mm2 cables would have done the same job, I can`t tell. These 4mm2 cables are a little more future-proofed and do the job very well. The whole making and laying of the cables did take me around 4 hours. There was a delay as the banana plugs I had ready to take the paired wires at the amplifier end turned out to be too troublesome. You may need to select your plugs carefully that are taking 8mm2 of copper, many won't. The ones I had took the cable OK but the pins turned out to be ever so slightly too big to fit in the amplifier sockets! I used a spare set. Very pleased with the results, the cables look smart, and feel pretty tough, and they sound fine. There might be 2 or 3% better-sounding cables if you want to spend 20 times the money, but for speakers that cost in hundreds of pounds rather than thousands I doubt you will hear better.
