If you place it just out in the rain you won’t hear it. Find a place where there is a lot of water falling on it (ie: a spout, it works great)

We purchased this for the rain. It has exceeded all expectations. It has withstood being outside for almost a year now and does not look at all tarnished. I love listening to the rain hit the drum. We have it propped up on a little stand so that the sound is louder than if it was on the ground. I would definitely recommend this item!.

Get what you pay for with this. One note is off and bent, one is slightly bent. The lower tones don’t resonate too well, finger playing doesn’t work unless I’m doing it wrong, with my hand or the tap rings. Mallets work great. Still makes good tones despite any imperfections. I bought this one to see if I liked the hand drum, and I do and it’s fun to just make sound with. So it’s worth the price to me so far just playing it once as it brought me joy and a smile. Plus I love the moss green color. Finish is good too.
