DERNORD 12V 100W Immersion Cartridge Heater SS304 Tublar Heater M14 Thread

This review is for the Dernord 12v 50W cartridge heater. This simple stainless steel heater element is well constructed. I greatly appreciate the sleeves on the wiring coming out of the element as well as the ample amount of sealer. Wire lengths as supplied are adequate and wire gauge appropriate for the voltage/current required. I checked the M14 threading and no burrs or other problems – easily spun in/out of my 14mm die. I also appreciate the supplied securing nut and plastic washer to make for an easy installation. The heating element has a resistance of about 0.36 ohms so at the specified 12vdc input the element consumes right at 50-52 watts. If you increase the voltage to say 14vdc it will consume 75 watts. I didn't see anything regarding a maximum input voltage. Therefore I'd highly recommend a stable power supply or one with current limiting to ensure it won't overheat, especially if the heating element is not operating with a temperature controller. Not a lot else to say for a simple, well made product. I don't see any reason this won't last me for a very long time. I highly recommend it for small liquid heating needs.
