The spring clips and locking buckles are the important parts of these straps. With those clips you can attach them to gear with loops, molle, or lashing. The locking buckles ensure that they don't accidentally loosen. All the components feel high quality and durable. It's a simple item done well!

I wanted to attach my Hoyt VTM 31 to the back of my mystery ranch mule pack for hunting/hiking but that particular back didn't have straps right across the back. It DID however have loops to put your own straps, so I snagged these accessory straps (because I didn't want to pay the obscene amount for Mystery Ranch's version) and they've worked great so far! I haven't been able to take them into the backcountry yet, just testing it at home, but I've got no worries as of right now. I'll update later if I find any issues.

They seem like good quality for the price. Wish they came in different colors and also there was some sort of strap management for the excess when tightened shorter like a velco loop sewed to the end to roll up the excess tag end. Bought these to strap a bipod and or trekking poles to my pack since it did not have any. Worked well. Time will tell how they hold up in the long run.

I recently got a new Tilopa bag, which is great, but I'm disappointed that they got rid of the compression straps on the side and back that were standard to help compact the bag down. Instead, they have loops these gatekeepers attach to. On the one hand, I like that this adds for customizability to the bag, but on the other, I had to spend nearly an additional $100 on a $400 bag to get compression and attachment straps like what I had on my original Tilopa BC from 10 years ago. Seems like F-Stop could have at least included one set of gatekeepers with the bag.But the straps themselves are great. They have a locking mechanism which ensures that they will not slip, which I found to be a problem with my original Tilopa bag. Overall, I like these. I just wish I didn't have to buy so many to replicate the original Tilopa design.
