Starry Mart Hot Red Pepper Powder Small Flakes (Gochugaru Korean Chilli Powder) 500g HALAL (Pack of 1)

I recently purchased Hot Red Pepper Powder Flakes, and I’m very pleased with the product. The pack is surprisingly large, much bigger than I expected, and it’s significantly cheaper compared to the small pack I bought from a Korean shop. The flakes have a great, mild taste that’s perfect for making Kimchi. The only downside is the packaging; you’ll need to transfer the flakes into a bottle or herb box for easier use. Overall, it’s a fantastic value and a quality product.

We love these chilli flakes, they are hot and spicy and perfect in kimchi. We use 50g of chilli flakes with two chinese leaf cabbages and it works out perfectly every time. Don't use anything else, just buy this and you won't be disappointed.

Initially used it to make kimchi but good when a fruitier chilli flavour is required very good value for the quantity.

I used this following a recipe to make Kimchi. As with all things, trial and error is sometimes the best measure. Using the recipe measures, produced an end result with the required flavour but ferociously hot. The next batch I reduced the amount of the chilli with much better results. A good authentic product and you get plenty of bang for your buck

This is a very large bag. Securely packed but easy to open and reseal. Pepper flakes are uniform and bright in colour. It gives nice sweet heat when sprinkled on cooked dishes. Heaped spoon added while cooking makes the dish spicy enough. I haven’t used for kimchi yet but this one tastes good and looks better than the varieties that I used in the past.
