If you want to get a leg up on swelling, get a pair of Doc Millers!
Having a Dr order for a pair of these compression hose, I found local outlets were over $50 for a pair. And then I found Doc Miller and ordered these immediately and when they came my wife washed them and the next day I taught her how to put them on my leg with a surgical replaced new hip. My swelling was extensive, a dead log from thigh to toes, no knee, calf, ankle just little piggies. Hardly a day had gone by and we noticed a smaller size log to match all the peeing I was struggling to manage. After a wearing schedule of 2 on, 1 off, and using the provided Ice machine wrap, my leg has progressed to almost normal size with only my foot and ankle still retaining and swollen. These socks are the real deal and work wonders. Learn how to put them on inside-out to minimize any struggle and reduce skin irritation or integrity issues. I used their size chart and measured my good leg dimensions and then the impacted leg and look a middle approach, with no regrets as to compression effectiveness. A great value for my money, especially considering the quality, thickness, and durable construction of these socks. A 10-Star product!

Comfortable Compression is hard to find-THIS IS IT!
You could pay 6 or more times as much for mild support hose BUT WHY WOULD YOU? These arrived today along with the $49 pair from another brand that I decided to try. Well, this is the FIRST and ONLY milder support hose that I have put on and then NOT tried to decide whether to cut off the top band or the foot of the hose because the stockings hurt so much.. THESE ACTUALLY PROVIDE MILD AND COMFORTABLE SUPPORT out of the bag. I have mild to moderate varicose veins but they hurt without support hose. These are the first pair out of 15 tries that have felt snug but comfortable and relieve the pain. If you need mild compression, try these first, then spend $50 to $100 on another brand if you want to...but make sure you can return that expensive brand since I think you will love these. Yes, I did try a surgical process for these veins for which the surgeon charged me a phenomenal amount of money for NO RESULTS. Another detail that might be helpful- I am 5'10" tall and weigh 145 lbs so for me, these are just absolutely on target size wise. And no, I did not get anything free for saying this but if you need mild compression, try these first.

Good quality but not perfect
This is a good quality stocking that has a band that stays in place and is resistant to pulls. We were able to wash and reuse. The hold up band on the thigh, is thick and could be a detriment if this will bother you skip this brand. I have a problem with the brand name band as well as the elastic band across the foot as well. They are very tight but can be folded over to provide comfort. Remember the operated leg will be extremely sensitive and the longer item is required pressure points will be uncomfortable over time.

Great Thigh-High Compression Socks
I really am pleased with the purchase of three-pairs of these thigh-high compression stockings. They are very well made, easy to put on and comfortable. What I really like is that the toe hole is on the underside of the foot. So if you're putting other regular socks on top, your toes don't slip through the hole while you're putting on the socks. I also like the grippy band at the top that helps keep the stockings in place and don't slip down your leg. As to fit, I'm a 5'2" man, 132 pounds, so a short dude. The size "M L1" fits me perfectly with the top going all the way up to the groin. Probably good for anyone up to 5'4" tall. I've machine washed and air dried the socks several times and they look and fit like new.

Very strong compression
These have good skip resistance and stay in place all day. I am 5 ft 1 and 117 lbs and ordered medium. I wore twice, but compression is so strong that I have pain in my toe after wearing for 16 hours. These are great for post TKR, but medium was too small for me.

Not heavy
Fit very well - not too tight but too long for a short person. I needed another thigh high compression sock after surgery.

WORKED FINE
What's to like about embolism stockings? I had to wear them for a hip replacement and knee replacement and always have the same problems. As soon as stockings meet sheets, they roll down, silicon strips or not! The quality of these stockings is great, no complaints there. They are as good as the ones the hospital issued. So, if you're going to be needing extras, these are a good choice!
