Very good product. Has helped my cat with CKD. Improved his appetite and movement. I give this to both of my older cats to help with their overall kidney function so I am using 6 capsules each day. The product is somewhat expensive at this daily dosage for the 2 cats but their overall health is worth the cost. Both cats are doing well. Easy to administer. One of my cats is extremely picky and has to smell any food before he will eat it. I dissolve the capsule contents in a small amount of one of his favorite wet treats and he gobbles it up without a prolonged smelling session. The other cat easily eats any really wet treat so she is easy to dose. I will definitely keep using this product.

This supplement has done miracles for my senior Pekingese. She was not eating, she was drinking a lot of water and losing her coat to the point where you could see skin. The vet recommended this supplement; it has made a big difference. Her coat grew back fully; she is eating well and not drinking water constantly. The capsules are large, so I empty the contents in a medicine syringe/dropper and add hot water in it to dissolve it (shake until dissolved) then add a little cold water so it's not too hot. I give it to her through the med syringe, and it works perfect. I just give her a little at a time on the inside of her mouth so she doesn't choke on the fluids.

I used to work in a vet research institution and so I'm familiar with CKD in cats. I was doing research on medications and supplements that have clinical support in being effective and AminAvast is one of the few supplements available over the counter that does actually work in improving kidney function. My 16 year old Maine coon was diagnosed with CKD in 2024 Sept and in less than a year her numbers improved to the point where she is only slightly elevated. She doesn't tolerate a CKD diet either. I've had to give her this and use the tiniest amount of PhosBind in her normal food. She would on occasion eat Forza Renal 10, Evanger's low phos beef tips and other super low phos over the counter cat food but she always gets tired of it very quickly. She prefers salmon, beef, lamb and most renal foods are chicken or tuna. So considering I didn't make much of a change to her food and it's not 'in spec' and primarily gave her two caps of this daily, I consider it a win! PS: the reason for the appetite increase is because as phos is lowered in the body the cat's appetite naturally increases. These amino acids also support muscle retention and can slow down the muscle wasting.

Update on 12/4/18 I started giving this to my cat back in October 27. While there were no instant visible improvements, the improvements to her health, vitality and energy were gradual. After the first week, I noticed that her appetite increased and she would eat her full serving of food. Her water intake is at a good ratio with her eating (she eats dry cat food that's formulated for renal health). Her SDMA levels did not increase and remained stable. BUN numbers are well within the normal range as well. This supplement combined with a veterinarian-prescribed renal cat food is helping keep my kitty healthy and stable. I highly recommend this product! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I’m giving this 4 stars for now since I saw immediate improvement. My cat’s blood works showed her SDMA level to be on the high side and her urine was dilute along with symptoms of frequent urination and thirst. So I started to give my cat these supplements before her follow up appointment to see what stage kidney disease she’s at. So far, her appetite is normal and she hasn’t been peeing so much (before I gave her these supplements, she would pee so much I had to clean the litter box so many times a day). She has been active and social again. I give this to her along with cosequin for her joints. I will update my review after her next lab works.

We had taken our neutered male cat, Smokey, to our veterinarian two months prior to ordering AminAvast because he had been throwing up between 3-5 times daily, seemed to be drinking water all of the time, and had begun losing weight. My husband's ex-wife had rescued him, as an adult cat, from an animal shelter around 15 years ago. She was unsure of his age then, but we adopted him from her nearly 10 years back when she could no longer care for him, so we know that he is, at very least, 16 years old. He recently developed a mass on his back paw and cyst-like lumps in several places on his body, so we asked our vet if those things could possibly be related to his vomiting. She told us that the mass was almost certainly cancerous, but that old age would likely take him before that particular form of cancer did, further stating that attempting a surgical removal will often cause the malignancy to spread to vital organs much faster than just leaving it alone. Doc offered that Smokey, as an older cat, may have developed a sensitive stomach over time and suggested we start purchasing a higher-quality food to see if that made a difference. We tried several different high-quality cat foods, dry, wet, a combination of the two...but the poor old man continued to vomit all over the furniture, our bed, the carpet, even the dog a couple of times. We were starting to have those conversations that every pet lover dreads. But, they had done some research, found this miracle product, and their pets were actually thriving 5, 6, 7 years later and more. So, I immediately logged into Amazon and placed my order, not really knowing what to expect. The bottle arrived two days later and I gave Smokey his first dose mixed into a little canned food. He didn't turn his nose up at it, which he usually does with all medications, so it must not have a distasteful odor or flavor. After a few days, he was still vomiting a lot, but some customers warned that it had taken a couple of months for them to really notice a change. We didn't have to wait that long. After only 4 DAYS of being on AminAvast, Smokey has completely stopped throwing up, he is drinking regular amounts of water, he's got that old confidence back and he's even started putting a little weight back on. And, now that he's gotten used to the little bowl of wet food in the morning and evening with his pill, he *loudly* makes sure I don't forget. I don't have any idea how long we've got with our wonderful old guy, but his health is improving by the day, and we are so thankful for AminAvast for making that happen. And, as an added bonus, I don't have to wash my bedding, run the carpet shampooer, and scrub down furniture every day now, so it's all win-win!
