Described on Amazon as "Extra Thick Warm Thermal Socks Black Heated Boot Socks" after I'd searched for thermal walking socks, I was expecting some sturdy, well-constructed, comfortable, and above all, warm, socks. That's not what these are. They look almost shapeless, and you can visibly see the toe-seams from a glance. These are not going to be comfy over a long day even without walking. The thickness is artificial, caused by the loops in the terry-towel like material, and will flatten out to just about nothing in boots. As for washability, judging from all the crossed out care icons, these are hand-wash and tumble dry only. No washing machine, no ironing, oh, and you are limited to 30 degrees wash for an item meant to live on sweaty feet inside boots. Terrible quality. Sure they are cheap, by my goodness the lack of quality shows they are cheap.

Don't believe the photos, these are annoyingly teeny tiny socks that barely reach your ankle - they're kind of halfway between normal socks and trainer socks. Plus they have absolutely no stretch at all. So only recommended if you don't mind freezing ankles all winter. The only use I get out of them is to wear them on top of another pair of socks, for an extra layer of material. But useless on their own.
