Great Knife and Fantastic Customer Service
So this is my first knife purchase that I actually tried to put research into because I wanted something that would last for a long time. After going through several different knives and talking to people who know more about steel and knives then I do, I was excited to purchase this knife. I was told it was made quality steel and the design was beautiful from the image. Before the knife came in I received an email from the company who makes the knife. They thanked me for the purchase and gave me a free ebook with some recipes in it. It was a very kind gesture and they ask for me to respond if the pdf went through (they had trouble before apparently). I responded and thanked them for the book, and much to my surprise they responded back to me, and they thanked me for having them be my first knife purchase and if anything happened to contact them. This was a great feeling, not only is the product great but the people behind it also do their best in customer service as well. The knife came in on time with what amazon said, and I couldn't wait to bring it out of the box. After gushing over the beautiful damascus pattern I decided to put it to use. To spare the details, this knife is amazing, easily the best i ever used. I highly recommend this knife to anyone if they ask me.Also sorry for the long review but I feel like i had to say both the knife and the company are great, and this is my first review so I don't what I have to say.

Sharp
This is the 4th Kuma knife I have purchased. I have purchased this knife for my daughters. Cuts through anything like butter and stays sharp!

Beautiful Knife
This is a beautiful all-purpose kitchen knife, well balanced, perfect for what I was looking for. It cuts veggies as well as more difficult tougher meats. The only complaint is that it wasn't very sharp straight out of the box. Great knife though. Exquisitely balanced.

I love it!
I am an impulsive buyer. I bought things and then I forgot them or stored them somewhere. My dad and I were in the kitchen and realized my Zwilling J.A. Henckels knife in need of sharpening. However, I decided opening the new Kuma knife I bought recently instead. This Kuma knife really amazes us!! It looks very elegant due to its workmanship. It gives the very nice feel and it cuts very well. I am replacing 7" Santoku with this. It is going to be my favorite daily use knife to take a slot at my Zwilling J.A. Henckels block set or I might "accidentally find" a Kuma set. :)

The Kuma Japanese Damascus Chef knife is a serious piece of workmanship! Nice balance, fits in my hand nicely and is super sharp. The customer service is very good also. They seemed concerned with every aspect of the experience. They kept me informed of every step of the way. The company was recommended by Booger500us, a friend of mine who posts cooking videos on YouTube. They had sent her a knife to review and she was very impressed with the quality of the knife as well as the customer service. I chose this model because I am particular about my knives and it has not disappointed.

first impression review
first i am a victorinox thru and thru to me they are light balanced and very easy to sharpen.second i use my knives very heavily every day being a chef.I never had a japanese knife before as i said i use victorinox and a korean knife from goldsun a cheapie santokuI took a chance on this because of the price i realise it is double the price of a victorinox but i got a vg1-0 damascus steel for that price which is a good deal in my view.on first look i thought it is slightly heavier than a victorinox 8 inch and slightly thicker also it is sharp right out the box but i am extremely anal about my knife and used a 10000 grit stone and stropped the knife to me it feels way better. I am impressed at this stage the knife feels easy to handle for long periods of time i love that there is no bolster i profoundly hate that in a knife. This knife is used mainly for veg prep, fish and meat cutting. I will update this review in 6 months time to find out if it stacks up for long term usage, and if it keeps it edge and for how long. What I would like to see in the future from kuma knife is a paring knife 3.5 inch vg10 or aus-10 . if the quality is the same that could be a winner.

My first Japanese style knife
The media could not be loaded. I would recommend this as a good mid-level cook/chef. I knows there’s better knifes out there but for the money this thing has some good craftsmanship. Already diced and chopped a ton of veggies and meat and the blade is razor sharp. Be careful

Solid knife, great price.
Love this knife. Bought it for use at work and in my culinary classes. Comes razor sharp and holds an edge like crazy. Would definitely buy from this company again. While it isn't as great as a Shun it is incredible for the price.
