Jack Dempsey 9 x 9-inch Baby Ducks Stamped White Nursery Quilt Blocks, Pack of 12

I returned this product as I did not realise that it was embroidery transfers,the picture looked like material squares for sewing into a baby quilt,I was disappointed.

Quite a lot of work in this cot cover, but will be wonderful when I get it finished .I've got untill July to finish it, will be done in plenty of time. Son and partner will be well pleased.

I've never made a quilt before, but am an experienced cross stitcher.The instructions for this quilt are clear and easily understandable. I did cut the embroidery panels out before I was supposed to, because it is much easier to work on one small panel without having to cope with the rest of the fabric.I would suggest to inexperienced cross stitchers that they use an embroidery hoop. A hoop will keep your fabric taut and make your stitching easier and neater.I also strayed from the suggested colours in order to make the quilt less pastelly.All in all, I can truthfully say that this was an excellent purchase and I really wish the company produced designs that are suitable for adults e.g. flowers, animals (not cartoon style.)

It was a surprise when I realised this quilt had to be embroidered rather than being squares that I had to just cut out and sew together but in saying that, I didn't actually read the description properly. Having to embroider the squares and then make up the quilt makes it so much more personal and the stitches required are very basic and easy. I haven't finished the quilt yet but I am delighted with it so far. With the extra work involved in making it, it becomes more of a family heirloom. Well I hope it will anyway. Slightly more time consuming to make but I love it.

My mistake was ,I did not realise I had to embroider it before quilting, will... be achieved in about 20 years.

This not not a ready made quilt it is a pattern to make a patch work quilt. Even the quality of the patch work is not good it does not come with the material so you would have to soure the material.
