I've been using these for over three years and I swear by them. They give me the energy I need to get through a workout and help with the recovery after. The pills, you should be warned, are gigantic. They are "horse pills". It's funny because on the bottle it says "easy to swallow". The thing is, though, after a short time I got really used to taking them and there's no issue now. Three years and I haven't choked yet. I highly recommend taking them with a big gulp of water. That is key. Also, at first at least, I recommend not doing it alone just in case. Finally, cutting them in half might seem like a good idea, but it's worse. Yeah, it's less to swallow, but with the pill in half it has jagged edges that hurt going down and actually make it harder to swallow

It works really well for me, and the price is right. I don't get all the reviews where people say "OMG, it's so big, I can't swallow it". Really? The pills are not small, but that is due to the fact that if you want to pack a large spectrum of Amino Acids in sufficient quantities into one pill, the pill will be quite large in size. If you align it in the mouth and drink something with it, the pills can be swallowed. They don't taste bad either and can be put in the mixer with a smoothie as well. The only other alternative would be to get a powder.

The Optimum Nutrition Superior Amino 2222 tablets are really effective and provide all the essential amino acids I need. My only gripe is that the tablets are very big, which makes them a bit hard to swallow. Other than that, they dissolve well and seem to support recovery nicely. Overall, solid product!

No negative effects were discovered... From positive effects can count : strength-endurance gain about 10-15%, resistance to cold. TABS ARE REALLY BIG! when I first tried to swallow it, nearly choked to death... than broke it on 4 pieces and swallowed like nothing, not a big deal thought... I was drinking it for about 3-4 months, can't remember properly.... FINAL UPDATE: After further use, I finally found the best way to take them without choking yourself. Grind them up in a blade coffee grinder. We use one for other herbs and stuff. They grind up into a fine, chalky consistency that will kind of billow like smoke. I then put the equivalent of 2 tablets (or more) into smoothies and protein shakes for an amino boost. It is virtually tasteless, but a bit chalky; adding cinnamon helps, too. I still maintain that these are too large for any normal person. Once these are gone I'm going to experiment with different BCAA or Essential Amino powders and continue to use in smoothies and protein shakes. UPDATE: My initial review stands...these tablets are too large for any normal person, and I would not consider myself normal as I have a high threshold for swallowing pills. I was so shocked that these were even sold, that I emailed ON customer support, and here's the response I got from them: "Thank you for choosing Optimum Nutrition and we are sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience with your last purchase of Amino 2222 Tabs. While we do not claim the Amino 2222 Tabs are easy for everyone to swallow, they have been scored during the manufacturing process to make it easier for consumers of the product to break the tablets in half and consume in two separate portions. We would certainly recommend this option as well as the consumption of these (and any other tablet or capsule products) with plenty of water. We encourage you to contact the retailer who sold you the product regarding their returns and exchange policies in the event you elect to discontinue use of the Amino 2222 Tab product. If you choose to exchange the product, we invite you to consider ON's Amino Capsules or Softgels instead, which are smaller in size and encapsulated, and so may be better suited to your consumption preferences." So, basically their solution is to score them in half. Well, bad news ON, they are still too thick and trying that still got one stuck in my throat and almost choked me! They also refused to exchange them, but instead offered me a sample of another product. The only redeeming value to them is that they are easy to crush up with the bottom of a glass, and I can add them to my protein. They are somewhat chalky but tasteless. I won't throw them away now. ............... ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am totally amazed that these supplements are even allowed on the market. There is no way that any normal or even superhuman can possibly swallow 2 of these pills 3x per day. No way. I can swallow a handful of pills in one sitting with limited water, but these are absolutely HUGE and dangerous in my opinion. If you wrote a review saying these tablets are not bad to swallow, then you are doing a disservice to your fellow humans. Do NOT ignore the bad reviews. These pills are HORRIBLE! I'm calling the manufacturer because they need to pull these from their offerings. Wow, I can't believe this.
