Good sound

It's a cost-effective solution for replacing worn out cartridge in older turntables. Their replacement is either unavailable or cost upwards of Rs.3500. Of course some tweaking is needed to fit this one properly, but it is a one-time job. After that only the stylus will need replacement which comes quite cheap. Sound quality will depend upon the preamplifier, since ceramic cartridges have a very high impedance and amplifiers normally have a much lower input impedance which causes mismatch and results in a tinny, high-pitch sound from the speakers. Had to custom-design my own preamplifier, and getting sound comparable to expensive magnetic cartridge. The life of the stylus is not much lasting about 6 months with average of half an hour playing time daily. Worn out stylus begins to jump or gets stuck in the groove. Has to be immediately replaced to avoid permanent damage to the vinyl record. Luckily, replacement stylus for this cartridge is easily available online, which is a major advantage.

It works even 78 RPM gramophone disc. At about 80Hz to 10KHz. Good for gramophone turntable. But hi frequency is little bit more. Better use it with a preamp.I’m using the stylus 4Hours a day. So it’s impossible for me to use magnetic cartridge & stylus to play those disc. It’s also expensive.

This was not suitable for my turntable, I ordered as it has a return option, as usual return and refund was seamless, no question asked.
