First impressions matter, and I rate this little gadget high in that respect. The tin case it comes in is definitely tin, but not cheap; it has a semi elegant and understated look. The matte black paint is nicely accented by the light gold lettering. Opening the tin reveals a leather pouch containing the pill cutter. I say leather because that is what it smells and feels like. The pill cutter itself has a nice heft to it and feels well-made. There is a spring operated slide that pushes the pill into position so that the cut is centered; a very nice touch, and it works superbly. The blade is sharp and seems to be of thicker construction than most blades in cutters. The thickness is not so much seen as it is suspected by the way the blade feels. The blade is mounted solidly and has essentially zero deflection, a fact that translates into clean cuts. I decided to go all in and cut one of my thick pills which I normally reserve for my heavy duty cutter. The cut was straight and took very little effort. I know that someday the blade will dull to the point that I have to buy another cutter, but in the meantime this is the boss! I can recommend this heartily.

This is a pretty good pill-cutter. I like that it is not made of plastic and is small compared to most other cutters I have used. The pill-setter is spring loaded and works relatively well. If course, because it is metal there is no window to see inside as the cutting is done - so sometimes it cuts a little off center if you are not careful. Has a very satisfying clock to it when you shut it, and it is a little clumsy to open open.

This is my second pill cutter, and it works like a charm to half and quarter pills. Because I have large fingers, I bought a Polartronix tweezer to set pills properly in the little cutter's jaws. The lid on the cutter is weighted and all I do is let go of it and it cuts the pills very nicely.

Best pill cutter I’ve ever used! You need this one! I can cut my pills in half evenly and not get pill crumbles. I just bought one for my daughter for Christmas. It cuts the time in half to split pills now. I love this product!

I was impressed with the packaging, although it is a little much for just being a pill cutter. I searched and searched for a pill cutter that was solid metal. This one is solid metal and seems to be a good quality. Don’t know how well it cuts yet, but I will update my review if it does not stand up to my husband‘s medication’s.

I’ve been searching on Amazon for days, hoping to find a reliable pill cutter. Unfortunately, this one didn’t meet my expectations. I need a pill cutter that can cut oblong pills, and this one doesn’t seem to work well with them. It can’t auto-center them correctly. It might work well for round pills, but not for oblong pills. It never splits them evenly in half. And don’t even get me started on cutting them into quarters. It just crushes the pills into dust. Another safety concern is the exposed blade. I have to keep adjusting the pill so that it cuts correctly, and I fear that the blade might slice me. It’s a very dangerous situation. I also feel that it is too small, especially for older people with arthritis in their hands. There’s no grip and it’s slippery. On the positive side, the pill cutter itself is quite durable. I was impressed with the packaging it comes with: a leather pouch and a tin storage box to keep it safe. That was the only positive aspect of the entire product.

First bought the white plastic version and like it enough so also just bought the silver aluminum version. Handles my round, convex edge oval and straight edge oval pills fine with excellent automatic pill centering under the blade. None of my prescriptions include some of the triangular or other odd shape pills yet. The metal versions include a leather holster and come in a black tin box so is well protected for travel. The plastic version is longer and wider and can handle larger pills, up to approximately 0.7" diameter maximum, the size of a dime, rather than the claimed 0.8", while the metal version I received handles pills up to approximately 0.6" diameter maximum. It will not accept pills as large as Tums 750 Mg anti acid pills which are 0.628" diameter. Plastic version dimensions are 3.4" x 1.45" x 0.59" while the metal version is 2.95" x 1.26" x 0.51". The designs are identical except for size and pill size capacity. Overall the easiest to use single pill at a time splitter I have used. Pill size handled listing needs to be corrected to indicate the pill size capacity difference between the aluminum and plastic versions of the cutter as well as the fact that neither can handle round pills as large as 0.8", the claimed maximum size. As noted above the limits are approximately 0.6" for the aluminum body version and 0.7" for the plastic body version.

Na minha opinião como produto muito bom , mas como divisor de comprimido é igual a qualquer cortador de plástico ou acrílico que eu já tenho . Esperava muito mais do produto . Quase igual aos que já tenho .
