Allen Sports Deluxe 3 Tailgate Bike Carrier

I bought this carry 2 bikes, but decided on getting the 3 bike option. Very good quality and easy to follow instructions on how to fit and secure. It took me about 15 minutes to fit the frame and load 2 bikes. Had no issues. After driving for about 15 minutes, I stopped to check that it was safe and secure, again no issues with it coming lose or needing adjustment. Highly recommended product, great value and quality. Along with this I purchased a couple of smaller straps to secure the bike wheels to there frames and stop movement whilst travelling, I recommend doing this as it adds to the stability and security of the bikes.

Fantastic. Easy to assemble, very sturdy and durable. However, metal car attachments will scratch if not covered, I used ducktape. And check the width as it's too wide to fit my sons bike!

This bike carrier is very good value for money when compared to alternatives offered in traditional bike shops. The build is sturdy, there is plenty of room for three big bikes and they are held securely. The installation is quick once you have the lengths needed for the straps with your car and just need slight tightening each time to create a sturdy fit. The only downside is that if there is any give in the side straps - especially if fixed on to a saloon, the metal hooks have the potential of scraping off some of the paint. This can be avoided by making sure the fastening is tight. The manufacturers really could do with putting a very thin layer of rubber on the underside of these hooks. It would remove this risk and make the installation even sturdier. Overall, a great buy and definitely one I'd recommend with the caveat mentioned above.

Great and easy install, but the metal scratches the paintwork, fitted easily and have tried 1 bike with no issues.

If you have either of these cars you'll know that carrying bikes externally is pretty much something you can't do. No towbar available and roof mounting not allowed so a universal boot carrier is the only option and it needs to have a wide range of fit. This one seems to fit fine and holds securely. The weight will be mainly on the places it needs to be - the soft pads against the boot and rear window. Straps have to go over paintwork so I might get some helicopter tape for the specific places because movement of the webbed straps could rub paint off easily. The bottom straps have to go inside the boot which is the C fitting option in the instructions. Well proportioned, sturdy, good quality. Folds down nice and small too so it'll easily go in the boot when parked.

We were pretty nervous when we first got this, thinking our bikes would fly off the back. We did a few tests, before taking it on the motorway, but we've not learned how to adjust it perfectly after nearly a year with it, and we love it. We're hoping to take our bikes to europe this summer, and we feel confident doing it with this.

Easily the best product I’ve ever purchased. 5 stars is an under statement. Me and the boys signed up for an Ironman in Austria. Under prepared as ever we bought this just knowing it would fail us at some point on the 4000 mile journey. If it did we’d have to buy new bikes at the start line. It would cost us £1000’s. We was wrong. Beast of a product. Never coughed or moaned just strapped onto them bikes like it’s life depended on it. Here’s a picture of it in the middle of France on the way down. Full 3 bikes attached. On a 1 series. We littered on it, smashed speed limits, went over speed bumps, onto ferries and trains, you name it it’s done it. Actually no it’s exceeded every scenario. As you can imagine the way back it just moulded to the car, we even more didn’t care about the bikes at this point but that baby just sat there clinging. Wow. What a product. Instrumental to us boys finishing the Ironman. I’m emotional writing this review on it. Congratulations to whoever made this creation, you’ve completed life.

Very very good brand. Very good quality. Easy installation. For salon car, suv car or 4*4 car. Fixed within 1 min only.

A little hard to figure out but a simple system that you do not need a hitch to use. It is very light and sturdy and easily fold down to nothing for storage or to put in the trunk. Has good cushions so you do not need to worry about scratching the car. I bought a used one for half the price. The item in the box was brand new the box was a little rough but no damage on the inside, rack was mint.
