Lots of suggestions and ideas for building confidence for Teenagers
I think this book gives lots of ideas for helping teenagers become more confident. The book is very readable and each of the 40 brief chapters has an appropriate quote such as “A compliment is verbal sunshine” Atharva Veda, ancient Hindu scripture, and “The only way to have a friend is to be one” Ralph Waldo Emerson, preacher and poet. Each section is just a few pages including “the science bit” which is clearly and cogently explained and useful background information about the issues discussed in that chapter. There are lots of thought-provoking practical tips for dealing with issues, so teenagers make progress and gain skills and confidence by overcoming the thought processes or imagined barriers. There are also some practical exercises to help people work through the issues either on their own or with others.I would recommend this book as it has lots of suggestions and ideas for building confidence in the teenage years. The style is just right for teenagers to read, and it is arranged in such a way that it can be dipped into easily.

EVERYBODY needs a copy of this book
This is the book that you wish you had owned years ago, and that once read you want all your friends to buy. Not just friends with children, but everybody because we can all learn so much from it.Its a gentle, no nonsense guide presented perfectly. It is broken down into small chapters with simple (not childish) pictures and whilst it is simplistic it does go in to the science.Becky really knows what she is talking about and brings a wealth of knowledge to this book (and the ones before, and the ones to come I am sure). She understands the human psyche on a level I have never really come across before, a gentle soul that if you have her on speed dial you are surely winning at life.We are in the midst of a mental health crisis and it is only going to get worse I fear. This book will help parents, and care givers, navigate the years to come.

I bought this book for my disabled teenage brother, who struggles with self-confidence in school. He read this book within a few days and seemed to enjoy it. He also said that it has helped him and he will try to utilise the tips given in the book.
