The media could not be loaded. I've been using this style of angle grinder from Silverline for many years. I put mine through Hell and get an average of eight years service when the bushes wear out. They're strong, robust and last a very long time and will do all the work you require as long as you DON'T misuse them.I see bad reviews for this angle grinder and all I can think is that you've been unlucky and got a faulty unit or you have been using it like an chopping axe which is NOT what it is designed for!There's also a lot of negative reviews from people complaining that the locking pin bends and it takes them most of the day to change the disc.So I've made a short video to demonstrate the correct procedure for changing the disc’s and the best way to let the grinder do the work for you. I’ve been doing this method for over 30 years and NEVER had issues with disc’s coming loose. Nor have I had any bearing or drive gear failures, just the bushes wearing down and if only I could get replacement bushes, I would never need to replace this grinder imo.

I needed a cheap tool for cutting concrete paving slabs. In spite of the negative reviews, I thought I would take a chance on this one because it was more powerful than some (800W) and I liked the handle with the integrated on/off switch. Out of the box it seemed a well-made product for the price with a good set of safety and operating instructions which are worth reading carefully. It comes fitted with a grinding guard and there is a guard in the box for use with cutting discs which I needed to fit for my job. It was here that I encountered my first snag. The guard is held in place by three screws - I managed to budge two with the recommended Philips screwdriver but came very close to ruining the head on the third which wouldn't move. Since the head is also slotted to take a straight screwdriver, I selected the largest in the toolbox which would fit, gave it a sharp tap with a hammer to free up the thread and thankfully i managed to start the screw without further damage. In use, on paving slabs, with a diamond cutting discs, it seems to work very efficiently although the 115mm disc is not deep enough to go completely through a slab from one side. In my limited experience with it, I think for the price this is a 5 star tool but I would downgrade it by one star because of the problem with changing the guard.

Cracking bit of kit. Used it on a roof to reshape and remove old cement to re-bed ridge tiles. So good was it that I sliced through the cement, and the roof tile beneath before I even realised. Not the tools fault (well not that tool). Used with aSilverline 394979 Concrete and Stone Cutting Diamond Blade 115 x 22.2mm SLTL4 it was a breeze to cut through tiles, cement, concrete. Very pleased at the price

Baring in mind that I am in business myself I always try to leave positive feedback. This would be the first items in several yrs I have to change that position. The cable is too short for use without an extension. The grip and hold is good but a very cheap side handle BUT when starting it up thats when things go wrong, the noise is horrendous hearing damage is expected and I normally wear protection. Vibration is poor. Bits of brushes and stator appear to be flying out, would not in any way recommend this and I buy a lot of silver line tools.MY initial report above has been confirmed with the grinder failing in only a couple of months and with only three occasions when I have used it. Complete rubbish. Did not expect this of a silver line branded grinder.

Good little tool for DIY so long has you realise its not a industrial machine, slices through what ever you have the discs for . No problem yet, I had a feeling with it been cheap it would be not to great, but so wrong and the disc set plus the Diamond disc extra really good value for the monies. Very happy with the whole set up.
