Great drive with great speed both read and write. The small form factor is a plus so I can take with me everywhere. I love the plug and play factor also. The storage is as stated. This is a genuine Toshiba drive with full storage and no need to format the drive. Love the drive and functionality. No heat after downloading multiple files for 3 hours straight.

I am not a techie and I am here to tell you this is a SUPER easy plug and play device that requires no instructions, no help from teenagers, you simply plug it in and drag your files over. It is a life saver for your computer because it is not expensive and it will speed up your computer and in my case I will stop getting the fatal errors that I have no more memory. HIGHLY recommend.

I bought the Toshiba Canvio Basics 2TB external hard drive (model HDTB520XK3AA) to back up my files, and it’s been absolutely reliable. It’s very affordable, small, slim and the hookup and function was very easy and simple not too complicated…. not to mention it works fast with transfers etc. impressive!

I've used two Toshiba external drives for many years now, one for my laptop and one for my PS4, and when the laptop seemed to be having more and more trouble recognizing its external drive, even after cleaning the plug contacts, I figured it was time for a new drive. This new drive does not disappoint. In fact, it makes such short work of backing up files that it became clear to me that the previous drive must have been dying for some time... I am amused too that the LED indicator light on this new drive doesn't flash like a coquette blinking her eyes the way the previous drives did. Instead, this drive blinks the LED very slowly and deliberately while it's working, as if to say, "I've got this; nothing to worry about!" At first I had a problem getting the drive to back up my laptop. The computer recognized the drive and the LED lit up solid, but my repeated command "Back up now" kept failing. I tried cleaning the plug contacts, rebooting the laptop, and even reformatting the drive, but still no successful backup. Then I discovered that Windows 10 makes you click on a "Stop using this drive" button (your previous drive) before you tell it to "Add a new drive." Once I had gone through that little ritual, all was well. And indeed, I was amazed how fast the new drive backed up all my files, accomplishing in less than an hour what the old drive had taken a number of hours to do. All in all, this drive does its job, and I trust I will get years of use out of it, as I did the Toshiba's before...

Easy to set up. Transferred gobs of files and still room for more. Light weight, easy to carry in briefcase or pocket.

Pretty small design, fits in pocket. It can be just mounted anywhere. Not sure about data loss or backup capability though. Overall a good product. Pretty fast with data transferring.

I bought this drive to save my TV & film videos ( 400 MB - 3 GB Max). What a delight ! The transfer rate exceeds 100 MBS every time. When I have multiple files the transfer rate is always above 50 MBS . The quality of the transfer is both fast & impeccable with no file corruption! This Toshiba hard drive is well worth the price.
